First Parkrun!

I graduated C25K last week so this morning I did my first Parkrun! Absolutely loved every minute of it. It was so relaxed and everyone was so friendly and encouraging. It was quite a hilly course and I've mostly been running on the flat so there was quite a bit of stopping and starting but I was so happy just to be out there doing something I never thought I would do - especially with the big 5-0 coming up later this year! My big sis has done Parkrun before so she stayed with me and gave me loads of moral support which really helped on those hills! For anyone that's wavering or nervous about doing their first one - just go for it! 😊

Well done. It is amazing isn’t it. My 10 year old Son and I visited a Parkrun this morning for the first time . It was a lovely course, all cross country and on grass. Next weekend will be my 40th Parkrun.

Now you have a PB time to go and beat next week.

It was great - everyone was so encouraging and friendly. Can't wait to go back. I need to start practicing some hills though! 😂

It really was - the marshalls were all shouting encouragement as well as runners passing me by (it's 3 laps of a short course) and runners who had finished waited at the finishing line to clap people in. I found it really positive and inclusive.

Welcome to the parkrun family! I did my first 10 months ago as a walk... and my 10th today as only the 5th one I’ve run. You’re way ahead of me getting straight into it after graduating. Sounds like you’re going to have many happy parkruns to me... enjoy.

That's my goal to do park run. Need to get out and run, mostly on a treadmill for me.

It's so much fun running outdoors! Give it a try. Parkrun is definitely worth getting involved in.

I was at the gym yesterday and someone there was singing praises on park run. Definitely plan to give a go.
