Week 7 Run 1 and just under 3 miles

The last run felt easy, so I pushed myself today and covered about 3 miles taking into account the 2 x 5 mins walks. The last 5 mins were slow and I was struggling but its time to push myself now. Magic

That’s fantastic! I do my last interval run in W6R2 tomorrow. I wondered how just running once with only two runs would feel, but it sounds like you are relishing it! 😀

I was surprised at moving up in duration. I did it slow to ensure I finished but as confidence grows I pushed myself. Challenge this weekend is not to bring too much the night before !!!

Well done.

Bear in mind that elite athletes spend as much as 80% of their training at an easy conversational pace, to build stamina and strength, not pushing for pace. It is even more important for new runners to build their basic endurance before pushing hard.

This might help healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Very humbled by reading those and put in my place, THANKS. Its an interesting read. Since I'm 60 later this year I'm in that over 30 group that needs to take it easy!! but my competitive nature means I want to improve but sounds like I need to pace that improvement before going for it. My danger is that the guys (much younger) at work are encouraging me to do a park run with them upon completion of C25K and f I do I will want to win , but I guess if I graduate I will have won., thanks again.
