Just got back from this penultimate run before graduation 👩🎓 Feeling very happy and increasingly confident in my running ability (first 5 mins is the hardest) but it gets easier once I’m in my stride. I know it doesn’t matter but I clocked 3.87 k including the walks! Is this ok for a 61 year old female? Also wondering about attempting a park run for my last run on the scheme Advice very much appreciated.

Congratulations, your time is fine, if you wish to run, run 3 of week 9 at a parkrun on Saturday morning that is OK, many people run their graduation run at a parkrun. 😊 Good luck. 👍
Thanks AlMorr, I’m going for it!
Great job. Not sure of your background... but 3.87k is good for a 21 year old male if they’d done nothing but sit on the couch for a few years! Don’t worry about it... wherever you go with your running, even if it find yourself on the London marathon start line with 40000 other people, it’s just you Vs the old you once the “race” starts. Here you are about to graduate this tough challenge... I’d put my house on you kicking the old you’s butt around parkrun this Saturday, and that’s what counts... you’re now above average fitness in the world... you’re capable of so much more now.
Parkrun is the second most amazing thing on earth (junior parkrun beats it) and I’d highly recommend it to anybody. It’s so supportive... but be careful not to go crazy, walk when your run is done, maybe a jog over the finish line at the end... keep that injury risk down.
Enjoy every single step of your graduation run... it’s the celebration of the journey, and you’ve earned it.
Feel very reassured by this post. I was fairly fit pre- C25K (lots of walking the dog) but this programme has opened up a whole new way of life in terms of fitness and health for me. I’m going to do the park run and I’ll heed all the advice you’ve given to stave off injury. Many thanks 🏃♀️
I’m 52 n only just doing 2k including walks so I reckon you’re doing just fine! 😁
Thanks SeeJillRun and good luck for your graduation run. Look forward to hearing how you got on🥇
