I got up this morning at 5am ready to go for my run at 5.30. On checking the weather it was very icy so I decided the streets may not be very safe so postponed my run. It was on my mind all day so decided to head out after work even though I prefer to run in the fresh morning air.
I started off well and realised I had covered more ground by the half way mark than usual. This of course meant I was feeling a little tired and remembered the group motto of βslow and steadyβ so altered my pace and returned to my preferred slower running speed. Think I was eager and getting over excited at the prospect of finishing my penultimate run. Anyway, I settled back down and was feeling comfortable. The streets were a lot busier than my morning runs but I managed to keep on battling until the end and completed my run. Overall I covered 4.9km including warmup and warm down so Iβm improving. I think Iβll keep it slow for a bit longer until I have built up my stamina a bit more. Iβm so pleased with myself. Iβm almost at graduation and I know Iβm going to continue to build on my success and enjoy running afterwards. Thanks for all the support. Reading everyone elseβs progress is what has kept me going. Hoping to do my last run later this week. Letβs do it ππ»ππ»ππ»ββοΈ

Thanks. Iβm so pleased with how Iβm doing. Still quite shocked that I am doing it and Iβm recommending the programme to lots of my friends so hope they start to enjoy running too ππ»ββοΈ
Ha ha - you may be young in age I donβt know! But I for one am not!! However I think the running is making me feel a tad younger than I was! Looking forward to your graduation post.
Ooh how exciting! I am so impressed (and intrigued) that you usually manage to go out so early. What sort of route do you run? Do you ever see anyone?
Well done for being sensible on the βslow and steadyβ front, itβs not always easy but key esp at graduation. Looking forward to hearing of your last run xx
I run in the local streets so they are well lit. I see a few people. Mostly people waiting for the bus or a lift to go to work. I have to get to work for 8 am so go early before work when the air is fresh and the streets are calm with the odd car and bus. I have enjoyed the programme so much and impressed with how I have progressed. Itβs a great way to get into running π
Great! I've never been able to manage running before work, I've often thought it would be a good time of day to do it but for me there are too many obstacles! I admire those who do.. I agree it's a fab programme. I would never have achieved 5K (or 30 mins) without it
TJ, what an amazing journey you have been on, such a joy to read about! You are doing so well.
Don't fixate on 5k or speed at all - all in good time. For now you are building stamina (and doing a good job of it!) I just reached 5k two weeks after graduating! You are so close though.
