I apologise for this ramble in advance! So, decided to do my run today after I dropped my daughter at the stables. Was going to drive to the canal and have a nice flat run. But the path is uneven and my ankle is a bit sore so decided against the tow path. Decided to run the road away from the stables and turn back at halfway, it’s a fairly flat road really. However, I forgot that the pavement runs out and the cars whizz by at 60mph+ so, at the last second I turned right down a country lane. It was lovely, sheep, lambs bluebells and dappled shade. Perfect. The downhills went somewhat unnoticed...until I turned back at half time. Well...I do not know how I did it, but I did it. I bloody did it!!!! I did not stop. My breathing went to pot, I was air hungry and slightly nauseous, but I kept going. I was no way stopping at this point. I’ve not had to give in to a run to this point and I was determined not to give in. My god it was hard. I nearly cried when Sarah cheerfully announced only 10 minutes left!!!!
In my self praise glow I am sooooooo proud of myself and, yes it was hard and ugly and slow, but I kept going and they were long hills. So, I can do hills!!!! Horrible, but I can do them!!!!!!!!!

Wow madmother, that's amazing! I haven't encountered any hills yet however any slight incline I've run I have felt!!! Well done you- I'm about to go out now for W9R2- your post has inspired me!
Loved ready that well what an adventure in half an hour it’s fab this takes us places I did week 9 last week and currently doing consolidating runs this week in pretty places ie on the beach and sand well that’s different but so nice afterwards we’ll done
Ooooh I’ve got one more run to do. One more!!! It will be my usual gently undulating route!!!! My left ankle is niggling me so needs a rest. I’m going to finish my last run, do a consolidator run on Saturday morning and then rest for a week to see if the ankle resolves with rest (and Spanish sunshine!).
