Hello everybody and welcome to April 2019. What a great time of year for runners, but wait... every month of the year is a great time for runners... just different 😀😀😀
Please leave your username here for me, so we can organise your well deserved Graduation badge.
We will try not to leave you waiting too long as we know how great it feels when your badge arrives.
Please feel free to download and save the above Graduation badge certificate that has been kindly designed by RunaroundSue
Don’t forget to look into the ‘What Next’ post
healthunlocked.com/couchto5...…….what-next
We would like to clarify the position of earning your Graduation badge.
To get your badge you will have completed the full training podcasts and be able to run for 30 min.
It does NOT matter if you cannot run 5 km; you are a graduate after running 30 min for three times.
To ensure that it is fair to everybody, please do not ask for your badge until you have completed Week 9 Run 3.
Many Congratulations and a Huge Well Done !
Please don't rush off from this forum too soon, our graduates bring a wealth of information, experience and encouragement to our new runners. We would love to read about your next steps, your challenges and how you overcame them, your successes and achievements etc.
As part of your future plans, why not join the C25k Quest, see the pinned posts for details🏃🏻♀️🏃🏻
Happy running everyone xxx

Completed the C25K at the start of March but managed to run the 5K for the first time yesterday. Very pleasantly surprised at how much I got out of doing it! Thanks for the support in here (I'm a lurker but I do read and pick up tips......)
I completed week 9 run 3 a couple of weeks ago . I am continuing to run for about 35 mins. Haven't quite made it to to 5k, strava tells me I do 4 1/2 so I'm nearly there.
I am delighted to say that this morning I completed my 3rd Run of Week 9....Big thanks to my Physio who advised on exercises for my back - now running virtually pain-free and, this great very supportive forum.
Hello there, I finished the final run of week 9 last week and have done 1 consolidation run! Still smiling and feeling so much better for it! Thanks for the advice and positive outlook all round 💚
Hi Oldfloss, count me in for Graduation this month, I completed my C25K on 1st April and although I did fun a 39 minute park fun on my week 9 run 2 I have learned this was well over the 10% rule and should have walked once I reached the 30 minutes. I will hang out here though, still need some support and guidance. Cheers Jo
Congratulations and well done! Do stay...this really is just the beginning of your running.. and there is so much support as you move on...I learn something new every day!
Congratulations and Well done... but..maybe a little bit of consolidation first... you can jump in to Magic 10 after a couple of weeks after that.. All the plans will still be on here
Graduated last week after never thinking I would! 🎉 thanks to everyone for the advice that I read on here, I don’t post but I do search here when I’m struggling with something!
A few consolidation runs, then a nice flat 5k official run with my first ever runner number 😁 I don’t care if I come last, the fact that I entered and can complete it is massive!
I want to speed up a little to do the 5k in 30 minutes eventually but all in good time 😊.
Consolidation is the name of the game... 30 minute runs... short runs.. longer slower, just see where you get to, runs.
Those long slow runs, are the ones that build up distance and eventually speed...New routes too... and that PR.. just go and enjoy.. I am a lone runner.. but went along to try to get used to running with people before my first HM... they are so friendly and welcoming... that i have done three more and am doing anew one here at the Coast tomorrow..
Beautiful absolutely beautiful..I love the coast and the runs..we are lucky enough to have a holiday home overlooking the bay at Criccieth and the runs and the views are soul lifting! I bet you feel just the same
We come every other week as we care for small runner in training Tuesdays and Wednesdays.. so every other Thursday... here we are
Citizen 64 - I graduated yesterday. Thanks to everyone in the forum for all the tips and advice. There was already an answer for every question I had along the way.
Thank you GoldenYears and congratulations to you too for finishing! I really do think the distance will improve with practice, I think the only reason I'm going a bit further is that I took a few weeks longer to complete C25K so I've had plenty of extra runs!
Hi, I graduated today - Nikkip1 😊 I have been quiet on here but i’ve really appreciated all the support all the way along. I always said I wasn’t a runner and didn’t enjoy it - not anymore!!
Hi , I finished my C25K program yesterday with a time of 35 mins for 5k, i can't thank you guys enough for all the inspirational posts i read. So pleased to have made it
Super proud of myself, I now consider myself to be a runner!
My journey will continue, as I increase the distances. A 10k run is my goal for later this year. No time limits to achieve this, I will just keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Thanks to everyone who has helped my on my journey - we did it 💕🏃♀️💕🏃♀️💕🏃♀️💕🏃♀️💕🏃♀️
I completed week 9, run 3 last Thursday after many false starts over the last few years. I'm new on here but appreciate all the support, everyone is very friendly 😃👍🏻
W9 r3 completed 😀😀 yay!! Like many of the people on this forum, I hadn't run since school and didn't think I could do this programme. I have found the advice, positivity and inspirational stories on this forum so helpful
Graduated at around 7am this morning. Wish it had been a bright Spring-like day but, even though it was dull grey with a mist of rain, I couldn't stop smiling!
I did it! Graduated! Wk9 Run3 was this morning in the wind and drizzle. Love running in the cold weather though because it keeps my cheeks to a rosy red rather than beetroot purple! Looking forward to consolidating for a bit then going on Bridge to 10K. I only managed 4.2k but it was a good pace for me.
I did it at the end of March, but didn't realise you could get a badge! Have repeated the run about 5 times to try and get to 5k but not there yet. One day! Thanks for all the support.
Congratulations and well done! Just get in plenty of consolidation.. short runs, longer runs.. different routes and 30 minute runs... you will find your strength and stamina continue to build and distance and speed may follow)
Congratulations and well done! If you build on the start you've made..then all things are possible.
Consolidation now. ..short routes...linger routes...30 minute runs and different routes.Stamina and strength need to build up more...and strangely...it is the longer slower runs that build up speed and distance.
Good Afternoon. I completed W9 R3 this morning...yay! I actually enjoyed this morning's run and have stopped clock watching and counting down the minutes. Not quite running 5K yet but nearly there.
SharsX Yippee add me the list! Only managed 4.8k on the last run that took me about probably 13/14 weeks but so so so happy W9R3 in the bag!!! Roll on next week - consolidation begins ....🏃♀️
Spartacus1st here. I did my first park run this morning and completed week 9 day 3 run at the same time, a great way to start the weekend! Thanks for all of the support from this forum for getting me off the couch!
It seems a bit daft to be bothered when I have my 10 k and 10 mile graduate badges- but my original one has disappeared and it is bothering me! Could I have it back please?
No recipe really, I just put a glove of garlic- cut in half, rosemary, some rhubarb, red wine and seasoning in the pan and let it make gravy. It was tasty
Thank you and hope so as now I have a very optimistic goal to run a Marathon next year. Having never run 5K in my life before. Thanks to you and all the members again.
A big goal... I ran my first HM a few weeks ago ..it was such fun.. Lots of consolidation now , try different routes, short runs, longer and plenty of 30 minutes. Then take a peek at the What's Next post... lots of ideas there.
Then...maybe head to Bridge to 10K and the Magi 10 plan it is excellent and there are loads of us there...ready to help. Meantime.. take a peek at this...
Hi Just read the link you gave very informative do you think Marathon over achieving goal. Should I try for half marathon rather. What app is best for B210k? Thanks in advance i know i am asking too many questions.
....a Half marathon first is a great start after that...it gets you going... and although 21.09 K does not seem a lot.. believe me... those last few Ks are hard
And you ask as many questions as you care to.. that's what we are here for
Highburyjog Thanks it has taken a little bit longer than 9 weeks (due to some v.heavy colds) but I have completed all the runs up to and including w9r3. Feeling much fitter as a result. I think I may have graduated.
I graduated a few weeks ago on a treadmill whilst working offshore with no internet. Signed up for the YWP 5k in October and registered for Parkrun. Now to get my road running legs!
I have just completed W9R3 and have graduated!! I am still a bit slow and cannot run 5k in 30mins but I intend to keep going.... hopefully my fitness will improve and I will get faster!
Hello Admins, and guardian of the 'graduation' badges.... I am please to report that I have completed (two days before my 50th) all my runs in my 9 weeks of Couch 2 5K, including a very hard Week 9 of 3 x 30 mins.
Thank you all on this Forum for fabulous positive support throughout... I hope I can continue to contribute to encourage others on here too.
I graduated a few weeks ago on a treadmill but now love running outside with my collie. Although I have never posted on this forum it had been a great motivator to read other people's posts so thank you to everyone who's tales of achievement and perseverance have kept me going. 🏃♀️🐾😊
Graduated today. Week9 run 3 you’re outta here! So happy to join this list of fantastic people.
To those just starting, keep at it, those in the middle, you can do it and those near the end, you’re almost there. It’s an amazing feeling completing the final run.
I have just completed my graduation run! Woohooooo! I am genuinely amazed and thrilled that I stuck to it but I did and I'm now (almost) enjoying it! 😁 TinyRunner is now into consolidation! Thanks for all the tip tips and advice xxx
I completed my last run this morning, got to week 8 run 1 last year, then got an injury, came back to it again this year & I’m chuffed to bits to have achieved it 🏃♂️😊
Hello, I've completed W9R3 today, so I'm now a graduate 😁 I plan to keep on running, but I'm going to stick with 30 mins for a few more weeks until I feel more comfortable, then I think I'll try to add 2 mins on to my runs each week after that. I'll have a look at the forums for continuing, but for now.. I'm going to catch a flight to Bali 🏝
Hi I completed W9 R3 today! And a parkrun last Saturday in 38 mins! I will definitely be sticking with the forum for more tips and helpful advice. I may even be able to share some of my experience with brand new runners. I still feel like a newbie myself 🐰🐰🤗🤗🏃♀️🏃♀️
I did my last run, W9R3, this morning & have been droning on about it to anyone who will listen (fewer & fewer people) ever since. Please can I have my badge. Thanks.
Just completed C25K! W9R3 done this morning, carried on running to get to 5K 32m50sec, and I upped the speed gradually throughout, finishing at a sprint (well a sprint for me anyway 😆). I feel terrific! So pleased.😊🏃🏃🏃🎉
Completed Week9Run3 today, in what seemed like gale force winds. Plowed through it and pleased as punch that I’m a graduate. Thanks this has been a great experience. Looking forward to Couch to 5K +
Plenty of consolidation first. New routes..short routes..longer routes and 30 minute runs...C25K+ is great..but challenging and teaches us a lot about the discipline in our running😊
Is is a small grey smudge saying, Graduate, which will be added to your name when you Graduate. For many folk it is priceless!
I know how I felt when it appeared by my name in 2015! Best Christmas gift to myself, that year
Then, after you Graduate, when you move on... new badges replace the different stages of your adventures... e.g. Graduate 10...for 10K, 10 miles...when you complete 10 miles...Half Marathon... and ultimately, Marathon...Each time you achieve a new level, your old badge is replaced...
I jokingly, get a bit miffed, because as an Administrator, that is my only badge which will show..., so although I have moved through the levels... only I know that... but, that's all that matters really
So, looking forward to granting your badge in 20 days, when the pinned link will say... May Graduation Badges!
Sorry... I congratulated you, but did not assign your badge..we can go a bit befuddled after a lot of badge requests flood in..Huge well done and apologies for the delay...🍾😊
Hello!!!! This is fantastic... where have you been and how are you ... we have missed you!!! It is great to have you back... we are all still here! Older, slower... or maybe that is just me!!!
Lovely to have you here... and looking forward to updates!!!! xxxxx
Hello, i graduated about 3 weeks ago (running 4.5k in 30 mins) and i'm still waiting for my Graduate badge next to my name. Sorry this sounds like i'm complaining. I'm not, i'm just Soooooo excited!!
Hi, I finished C5K on 21 April and have just completed a Parkrun running the whole way in just over 35 mins. It took me a bit longer than 9 weeks, actually 11 months, but I got there. Most weeks I could only do one run a week, and I repeated the early weeks where each run was different. I had been losing condition due to Chronic Fatigue, which was causing various problems. 14 years ago, before CFS hit, I wanted to be able to run 1 mile, now I can run 3, something I never thought I’d be able to do.
Hi, I thought I have reported my completion of C25K some time ago, (April) but still not marked as Graduate, do I need to do something else?
I now run for 30 minutes 2/3 Times a week using either wk9 Laura or a timed music background. Feeling more confident and when ready will go forward but happy where I am for now!
