Hi Old floss , I have now completed 5k & also 10k but still waiting on my badge. I appreciate busy u are so whenever U can manage would be fab . Thank you . Xx
Hello, thank you for organising this option. I completed my graduation run today and it has been a wonderful process. I would love to wear my graduate grey smudge with pride on this forum and may even head over to the exciting and intimidating world of 5-10k...Consolidation runs for a while though.
Hello, never thought I would see the day when I graduated but I completed my last C25K run last night. So excited for my badge 😃😃 Username is aritchie24. Angela
I have completed c25k and i am so chuffed with myself. 50, overweight, never ran nor believed possible. It is a gentle jog with feet not full of spring and bounce like a gazelle, but perhaps with more weight loss and increased fitness and strength i hope it could look a little more relaxed. Haven’t posted here previously, but reading posts from others definitely helped me through. Thank you so much.
Hi - i have literally just completed my week 9 run 3 and finished c25K! buzzing with excitement at the achievement - can't wait fro my graduate badge! user name is splasher
many thanks - found the community incredibly helpful and supportive
Hi Oldfloss I completed C25K this morning (5K in <38min, couldn't help myself!). Haven't posted before but really appreciated all the encouraging words and advice from others. Took me 20 weeks due to knee issues but still really chuffed! Thanks
Hi Oldfloss, I completed C25k this morning, loved every minute of it, almost! Have been recommending it to friends. Can you arrange graduation certificate/ badge please. Thanks so much
Week 9 run 3 completed this morning. Should have done it on Wednesday night but decided to hold off until today so I could do it in daylight and enjoy the scenery. Best run of the 3 this week!!
Hello I completed couch25k New Year’s Eve so December but only found this page this week so I’ve been advised by members here to message this January thread.
I’ve done a New Year’s Day, and two Saturday park runs this year not in 30 mins but without walking 😀
Hi Oldfloss, I have just completed C25K this morning. It's taken me 27 weeks, But got there in the end! Just realised that's the reverse of my age 72😱🤣 my user name is Johnt46
Hi. Completed the C25K programme last week running my W9R3. I followed it with a couple of 40 minute runs and then had the thrilling experience of my first park run yesterday. My name is John Densley and username Bartontiger. Thank you
Completed Wk9R3 2day with a massive smile on my face and a shout of happiness (well more of a whisper as I was xhausted lol)..was delighted 2c the graduation banner appear on my screen 🎉
Hello I have Graduated!! Didn’t think starting to run at age 67 necessarily a good idea but this programme works. I did my week 9 run 3 yesterday (January 15th) I used week 9 run 2 to do a park run so now have a PB of 41 minutes!!
Hi, I completed w9 r3 today, I haven't run for this long ever, even at school. I never thought that I would get this far, starting at 49. It really does work, I'm so happy! Thanks x
Hi Oldfloss, HuwC here, completed wk9 run 3 this morning- pushed on to 5k in 31:32 so not far off the pace. Thanks you for your time and effort on this site, and a big thanks the NHS couch to 5k. Best wishes, Huw
Not sure where you are... I have looked back and could not find you in this list.. did you maybe get the wrong year..:)...I am sorry you have had to wait anyway...
I have just scanned around on your posts..... you just posted on the main forum... when you Graduate you need to click onto the Graduation Badges post link...that is why you did not show up here Well done!
Hi Oldfloss. Can I have my badge please? Completed C25K this morning. W9R3 was hard going but I beat my 5K PB by 50 seconds. Think I need to work on pacing myself.
Hello Oldfloss - I can confirm that I completed my Week 9 run 3 graduation run this morning. I would of course be delighted to receive a graduation badge😊.
I graduated between Christmas and new year - didn’t get round to doing he Dec grad bit - still doing my 3 runs a week - can I sneak a January graduation please...
Completed my final run of week 9 this week and just finished my first post-graduation run this evening - feel great! Thanks for all the supportive comments here. User name is hanf.
We do have set times when we check into the forums... As the Admins are all volunteers... we are not able, unfortunately to monitor the forum every hour of the day
We do try, very hard, as the Graduation Badge post says not to leave you waiting too long... but life gets in the way sometimes.. In my case today.. stuck in snow:
Hello there! I've just done w9r3 and am very excited. Could I please apply for my graduation badge when you have time? Thank you very much. My user name is Tigger54
It took me 4 months and I have finally completed week 9 on Thursday 😀. My teenage son is now joining me, so that is an unexpected bonus too. User name is MalawiTom, thank you.
G’day from a warm Sydney. I have just completed week 9 run 3 and feel really grateful for this super program. At nearly 75 I was pretty slow at 7 mins 45 per Km but that will do just fine for me.
Determined now to crack on ... I'd pretty much decided it wasn't for me me , but so surprised and encouraged by the many messages of support I'm going to out to try again tomorrow .
That is brilliant...well done you... We have thick, wet fog here today!! Also, if you post your runs on the main forum .. you will be amazed at the support you get..it has kept me going for over three years. It does not matter what level we are at.. we all run together and it rocks!!! x
Apologies if you get my request twice. I did the w9r3 run today and am too exited to get my badge thingy. Xxx thanks to all on this app. Really could not have done it alone xxxcc
I completed the podcasts a couple of months ago, but never got round to publishing the fact!
After 5 park runs (Saturday was cold!) I’ve managed to take 4 minutes off my ‘worst’ time already😀
Thanks everyone for all the advice (there are very few new questions, it seems!). The combination of this site and Jo Whiley got me through a few attempts at completion.
Hi I have graduated the Couch to 5k and have continued to run 5k 3 times a week including 2 Parkruns which I now intend to do as one of my runs each week. Took me a while to get there with Achilles problems but now seems to have settled down. Have worked my way up to 6k now, but 10k still seems a way off! I still haven’t run 5k in under 30mins my Parkrun PB is 30.22 so maybe one day!
You are doing well...maybe, shake the runs up a bit... shorter,,, lots of 30 minutes and some longer, see where you get to runs. It is the longer slower runs that help us build up stamina and strength... and the distance and indeed the speed evolves with this.
Well..if you have competed the C25K....then congratulations and well done...!
Consolidation is the name of the game now, as the plan has only just begun the process of building u our running legs and our stamina and strength.
So... shake the runs up, now... some short... some longer... new routes and different surfaces even. Then some, long, slow and steady, see where you get to runs. It is those long runs which build up strength and stamina and distance and speed follow
If you fancy moving across to Bridge to 10K.. there is great support and you will know many of us from C25K....
See you there... if you take a peek at the January Quest... maybe you can set yourself some simple goals, when you have had a look at where you want to go...
I did it... C25K smashed. Just completed w9r3. I can’t believe I managed it after struggling to get through week one. Thanks for all the support from the forum. Read post most days to give me motivation to keep on going. Couldn’t have done it without you. 😄
Hello. May I please have a graduation certificate. I completed run 3 of wk9 this morning & cannot quite believe that I've made it. Running for 60 seconds in week one seemed impossible. I am a total convert to running. I'm as slow as can be but have noticed a real change in my body shape & I love it. I would NEVER have managed this with C25K. What a fabulous programme. Thank you so much. I haven't posted anything but have really enjoyed reading other posts & feeling very much a part of a community. Thank you to everyone for making this possible.
Completed my third 30 minute run this morning. Not quite 5k but I need to leave something to aim for! I really didn't think I could do this. Most exercise I've had for 40 years - I feel great!!
Three graduation badges for the Setter running group please, that’s Lochlan, Fin and the old dear (that’s me) can’t believe I’ve done this. So happy to finnish run today, cue one very excited elderly female pumping their arms into the air and actually crying with joy. And by chance the music track playing at this auspicious time? Bonny Tyler’s I need a hero, very serendipitous. What a wonderful programme this is, and also what a fantastic forum, thank you for all your input and help along the way, especially admins and Ian the mentor, you are all brilliant to give up so much of your time to help people. Time to open the bubbly!
PS No I didn’t do 5k, but all 3 runs in week 9 done recovering from bit of a cold so that’s my excuse😉but we will get there very, very soon 👍
It with happy tears that I can tell you that I DID IT!!!!! I COMPLETED C25K!!!! Can't quite believe that I'm saying this, but can I have a graduate badge please 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Since then I have kept at it and completed my first Park Run .
My plan is to consolidate for 9 weeks trying to increase my pace, doing Park Runs every 2/3 weeks and try to get to 1 hour running. Then who knows! I might bridge to 10k .
Thank you for all your encouragement and support .FB ♥️
You're not alone..I did my first one this year..my third year of running. I was not happy...but I survived. The numbers do string out...and it is not too bad. But... Park run does not suit everyone...many of us prefer solo running....so don't worry overly... just slow and steady and see how you go
nickhard here! I finished the couch to 5k a little while ago. I posted in one of the January graduation posts but thought I'd add one here too! If I could get my badge; that would be brilliant!
Hello please could I have my Graduation badge? I actually completed C25K last July (in Kingston, Ontario while visiting my sister). I’m still running, and enjoying it! Thank you and best wishes HL11
HI. At long last I have just completed my final run of the Couch to 5k program. What a journey it has been. It’s taken me longer than the 9 weeks but that doesn’t matter to me. I am so chuffed that I have run for 30 minutes without stopping not just once but 3 times!!!Now to keep it up and keep on running!!!!!
