Tights feel so good

So I'm just going to prefix this with a context of the sort of guy I am - As a cyclist I ride off-road MTB. We wear loose tops and baggy shorts while laughing at the lycra clad roadies. Off the bike I spend hours trying on hundreds of pairs of jeans looking for a loose comfortable fit, which is getting ever increasingly difficult in this world where skin tight and super skinny is in fashion.

And yet, here I am, having just purchased a pair of tights. Yes, tights. Ok, they're running tights, but they are tights all the same, and they feel, I must confess, amazing.

Maybe it's time I ditched the jeans and just wear stretchy lycra everywhere I go. Most of the mum's do it on the school run and I don't believe for one minute they are all heading straight down to the gym.

In other news, W5R1 is out the way. After the horrendous evening of trying to persuade my 4 yr old to stop throwing a tantrum and go to sleep (how is it even possible to scream for 90minutes without taking a break to breath) this run felt so good. I totally understand why they say it's good for your mental health!

I agree with you! Kids have an amazing ability to scream without breathing! 😂 🤣

Well done for completing the run! I find that running tights feel like a second skin. I can mostly be seen leaving my clan at school in a morning while wearing them and I'm either off on a run or out on my bike (22 miles yesterday on undulating roads). On the mental health note, I've struggled for years with anxiety and depression. Since starting this plan I have felt so much better and more in control of my emotions. So many of my friends have commented on the change in me. I'm definitely sticking with this post graduation. Good luck with your next run xx

Shorts over them?🤯

Oh yes. It may be dark outside, but no-one needs to see that as I run under a street light 🙈

🤣🤣🤣🤣, I thought I had better ask, someone was bound to!

I may have done a little research before committing to my purchase, "do men really wear tights?"

Anyway, there is a argument that says you don't need to wear shorts on top, but I dismissed that as just plain weird.

You wouldn't run in your underwear now would you!? There's a time and a place for these things and running in the street is not it!🤣

Well researched!!

I'm sure that you don't "need" to wear shorts on top, but I think that it is necessary to. 😊

Enjoy the programme, sounds like you are getting a lot out of it🤩

Some of my Blind Dates could give your kid a run for their money when I would show up....😱

What are the tights? I mean brand name or style or whatever? I am getting desperate to run outside despite this lousy weather....

They're just cheap Dare2Be running tights. Got them online for a tenner.

chelstondirect.com/mens-dar...

They've got a good size pocket at the back for my phone with is great, but I would have preferred that pocket to allow my phone to sit a little higher. Nevermind. My only other reservation is they feel a little short. It's probably just my legs as I often find trousers sit a little short on me but for the price I'm happy to turn a blind eye to these two little annoyances.

I definitely recommend them. You ain't gonna find anything much cheaper and you can't go wrong for that price. Time will tell how long they last I guess.

I have been wearing my wife's leggings! Have to stretch them a bit to prevent myself looking ridiculous, and I wear shorts over the top, but oh so comfortable for running?

Haha, I read "I wear my wife's..." And thought I'd entered the wrong forum. Not sure I've quite got the confidence to be wearing my wife's clothes, I had to check several times that the ones I bought were definitely men's 🤣
