Went out this morning, not quite as cold as normal. It wasn’t fast, it wasn’t far BUT I loved it. Happy running 🏃♀️🏃♀️🤣

Nice early morning run
Lovely Shelley. Sometimes the little ones are the sweetest aren’t they? 🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️🏃♀️
I would say that is fast. I do 7-5 km per hour speed! 🐌
That’s less that 7kmph that’s per km 🤣
Ok I’m going to hold my hand up and say I don’t have a clue actually what that figure means! Can you give me an idiots guide? On Strava it sometimes says 8. something and sometimes 7.5 ish. I don’t know what it means to tell if I’ve done well or worse x
Pace is how long it takes for you to run 1km. Kmph is how many km you’ll do in an hour at that pace. Does that make sense now lol
It says pace above it. One is 7.55 and the other is 8.10 /km So does that mean it takes about 8mins to do a km? I am so rubbish at stuff like this. All I know is I’ve lost energy since that virus I had the day after graduating and can only just manage 18-20 mins now 2x weekly. And it almost kills me 😱 Rubbish. But better than nothing. X
That means it either takes you 8min 10 sec or 7min 55sec to run 1km. Mine says it takes me 9min 16 sec to run 1km. Since I’ve graduated I’m struggling to get past 20 mins too and I haven’t been ill.
Both are measures of pace/speed. You can either look at kmph (kilometres per hour); or time per km.
Or miles, of course!
The difference is that unless MJ actually ran 7.5km, her stats show a projected distance if she sustained her current pace.
Shelley’s show the pace she was running at for that km/those kms.
MelsieJay’s pace is 7.5 kmph (I think that’s what the 7-5 means, as opposed to 7’50”?).
Shelley’s average pace was 9’16” per km.
So if we convert MelsieJay’s kmph pace to time per km: 7,500 metres/60 minutes = 125 metres per minute. 1km/125m = 8 (handy!). MJ’s pace is 8’ per km.
If we convert Shelley’s pace to kmph then: 60 minutes/9’16” = 6.47kmph
I think.
Clearer? 🤣
