W4 R1 - getting the hang of this now

Chuffed that I have completed W4 R1 - woo hoo, I can now run for 16 mins and not feel like I'm dying!

My legs feel heavy at the start of each new week, but I know this wont last and by R3 it feels like I'm finding my running style.

Concentrating on not bouncing around too much (remember the hedge hint) and breathing deeply (to avoid getting a stitch).

Feeling proud of myslef 👍🏃‍♀️💕

Very intrigued to know what the ‘hedge hint’ ’ Is 😋😋

Imagine you’re running past a hedge and there is someone walking the other side of the hedge...they can only see top of your head...they aren’t supposed to be able to tell if you’re running or walking...so the tip is to make sure you’re not bouncing up and down as you run. It’s a week 3 tip 😊. Discovered it this week when I started week 3. Definitely makes me more aware of not being too bouncy. I think I’ve explained it properly!

Fantastic. I completed week 3 today and feel so positive about the plan. Had a peep at week 4 and it looks a bit daunting - will keep my faith in the plan. Never believed I would finish a work out and feel so good!

At the beginning of each new week, I think "this will be the one I wont be able to complete" then find I start to get competitive with myself 🤣🤣 I am running indoors on a treadmill, but I find that means I don't have an excuse not to "go out". My goal is my first outdoor run will be in March in Central Park, NYC for my 49th birthday. I want to be able to run for 30 mins at any pace, without stopping or coughing up a lung! 🏃‍♀️👍

Good for you it feels good doesn't it. Im just about to do wk5 r1 not looking forward to it but i expect it will be better than i think once ive done it.
