Struggling!

Havent been able to do the 3 minutes in one go once on all of my runs!

Feeling quite down hearted about this - think I am going to have to repeat week 3.

Each time I get to two mins, I cant seem to go anymore... think I am running too fast too quick. Tried slower music but not helped!

Did anyone else struggle?!

Maybe you are going too fast, slow down a little and you should be able to complete the 3 minutes of running 🏃. Repeat week 3 before going on to week 4.

Definitely slow down. The trick to progressing is learning to run slowly - your run can be slower (much slower) than your brisk walk. Someone posted this earlier - the benefits of slow jogging! m.youtube.com/watch?v=9L2b2...

This is really about duration - both speed and distance can be worked on later. At the mo slow down for duration & you’ll get there.

I’m so glad that helped! It’s really helped with my running confidence, feeling better about knowing I could run slowly well!

I REALLY struggled on run 1 of week 3, but for the next one I slowed it right down, stamina not speed, speed will come later on down the line. Finished week 3 tonight and feel alot better about it xx

I did R1 of W3 today, I did the 90s run at my normal pace but when the 3 min came around I realised at about 2 mins in that I wouldn't manage 3 mins at the same speed so I slowed it down... but I did go at my normal pace for the next 90s run and kept the 3 min slower, am planning to follow the same approach for the next 2 runs this week. Just slow down and you will get through it! :)

You need to run at the easy conversational pace described in the guide to the plan.

If you cannot breathe fully and speak clearly then you are going too fast.

A tip that might help you: actually try singing or talking to yourself as you run. If you can’t that’s the sign you need to slow down. And don’t feel like you’re running too slow. You can’t run too slow in this programme. Hope that helps!
