W3 R3 done!

Finished with week 3 so roll on week 4! I am both excited and nervous to welcome week 4 and the dreadful week 5. I read blogs about people that didn't succed on these weeks and redone them so I am fearful a bit.

I know I should just stop thinking about it but I can't seem to manage it.

I've just finished week 3 as well so we can see how one another gets on. I've learned especiallly from greenlegs that slow and steady gets you there so that's exactly what Im doing and shall continue determinedly :-)

He he! Slow and steady rules! :D

I was scared silly by week 5, but to be honest, the worrying about it was far worse than actually doing it! The key is bashing those gremlins on the head, and believing in the programme. You CAN do it! :)

One run behind you! Just done w3r2. I had to talk to myself at one point as the path went uphill but got to the end. I'll be following you so I know what's to come!

Tip for the longer runs - avoid anywhere with uphill bits! Save them for after week 9, when they'll be an interesting challenge. Until then, if you can, stick to flat or downhill - it's not cheating, it's being sensible, and training your legs, heart and lungs gradually! :)

I was actually thinking about whether hills would be ok at this stahe but I thought it would be best to leave them for much later. Guess I wasn't wrong

Haha Greenleaf. I live on the outer edge of Sheffield near the peak district - hills are everywhere and unavoidable! Although I totally agree with the slow and steady method. I will be tackling W5R3 tomorrow - 20 whole minutes of shuffling. My brisk walk is faster than my juggling (jog/shuffling) :)

Sheffield is a bit on the hilly side! My daughter lives there, so we quite often visit. Even so, take the hills into account, and don't expect to go up them as fast as you can go on the flat (strangely enough, lots of people seem to get disappointed with themselves for slowing down for hills - not sure why - hills are harder!)

I've been looking at my walking/running paces today, and yes, I can walk significantly faster than my longer-distance running pace!

Steady and slow seems like it's the path to success, I think I got this far by knowing that everything will come gradually . Good luck to everyone ! I love reading I did it stories because I want to be one of those people
