Where do I start???

So 2 weeks ago I was just about to start w8r1 when my dad was rushed to hospital with a heart attack and spent a week in ICU. As you can imagine I have spent the last two weeks at the hospital and haven’t been anywhere near the gym! Thankfully he has made a nearly 100% recovery and is now home. So tomorrow I am back to work and the gym......do I go to week 8 as planned or repeat a few weeks??? Any suggestions???

Try week 7 and see how you get on. If it a little tough move to week 6 instead.

Delighted your Dad has made a good recovery.

Your almost there, enjoy your last few runs on the weeks ahead.

So glad that your dad has made a almost 100% recovery. Just continue with the running where you left off, best wishes to your father for a full recovery..

Good to hear that things are settling down.

You lose next to no condition in two weeks, so will probably be fine to pick up where you left off.

Personally I would redo week 7 just to give you the confidence going into week 8

Have a go at where you left off and if it’s too hard just move back. You’ve been doing lots to get to week 8 so you are probably still fit if you’ve only missed two weeks. Great that your Dad is recovered so try week eight as a celebration run ... nothing ventured and it’s not a competition. Good luck

Scruff, this happened to me at the same stage. My dad was in hospital so I missed 16days over Christmas. When I started again I considered going back to wk7 but wanted to show myself I could do it. And I did. Just completed first run of wk9 on Friday and close to graduation.

Try wk8 is my advice. Good luck and glad your dad is ok.

Glad your Dad is ok. I've had breaks of up to 2 weeks due to illness myself but when I returned to the programme I just carried on with the next run. Go for it. Carry on with wk8 it's only an extra 3 mins anyway and if you do find it tough just slow down. I'm sure you will be fine though.

Hope your dad ok, if you've only had 2 weeks off you should be able to pick up where you left off according to things I've read on here

Great news on your dad’s recovery. As above you should be good to continue... go slowly and just enjoy being back out there (or in there if it’s a gym)

Have a great run.

Glad your dads on mend!

If it were me i’d probably just try carrying on from where i’d left off but if I were struggling maybe try the 3rd run of week 7 again, good luck!
