Slow start!

I'm just starting this programme. In my early 40s, very overweight and spent too many years doing zero exercise. Using this along with light gym sessions and changing my diet. Did 4 of the runs on w1r1 and walked the rest of the way. Gonna take me more than 9 weeks but given this is long overdue, I expected a slow start.

It takes as long as it takes, the important thing is you’ve started!

Welcome to one of the best things you may ever have done....Please check this post out for some great advice and support:)

Take as long as you need.. listen very carefully to your body and make sure you take it steadily and slowly. This is a journey not a race.. and it is your journey.

Keep posting for great support and advice:)

Well done! Starting is the hardest part. Alongside doing this programme and healthy eating i’m losing weight. I don’t want it as a short term fix as that is normally what happens. I want it to be part of my life. This programme is brilliant as you start slow and you gradually build up. Good luck!

welcome! there's plenty of other people who have started with a "pre week 1" run or a few. And absolutely loads of us who took longer than 9 weeks. You've done a great thing starting!

Nothing wrong with taking longer than 9 weeks. It's a journey, not a race. Just keep your runs slow and steady.

I started 4 weeks ago and I had to do week one 5 times before moving on. I am now on week 3 and it is getting easier. I am 50 years old and 6 stone overweight but I am getting there despite really doubting myself those first two or three tries. Keep going!
