Where do i start after a break?

I started c25k in April and got to end of week 6, i stuck to 3 runs a week and cut the crap from my diet. Id never done any execise before apart from odd workout dvd at home but i really enjoyed it, i got the stone off i wanted and was raving about it to anyone who would listen but......then in may i went on holiday, the diet slipped and i havent run since 😫

The stone is back on and i have run out of excuses so the healthy eating is back on today, the cupboards are filled with the right stuff and the kids have been briefed!

But where do i start with the running???

I cant face the thought of starting at week 1again and ive searched the posts but tbh i cant really figure this network thing out but ive got as far as writing this so hopefully someone will have done this too, im sure others have but dont tell everybody!

Any advice welcome, hopefully i will figure out how to read it and will definately update after ive been this evening!

Any advice on which week to start on really welcome?!

3 months is a bit of time out of the game so I'd do W1R1 again (for the funzies) and then one week from each week until your legs say "Oooh". I'm guessing around W3 or W4.

There's no "golden rule" on this. Just go out and see how it feels. But doing a W1 run will definitely get your mind back around this....

Well done on getting the post written and the cupboards filled with right stuff, great start. Like he said above ... yes sorry but W1 and embrace it 😁🙌

Why not try a gentle continuous run and see how long you can comfortably go for. If you can do 8 minures then pick up from beginning Wk5 if not then start from whichever week best matches the interval you can run.

Go easy - good luck.

I agree with DebJogsOn. Go out for your first run, just take it easy, relax and just see what happens. You may surprise yourself. If you get out of breath just breathe steadily and thoughtfully and try and keep going. If your legs start to wobble it’s probably time to stop. The length of time you keep going for will give you the start point. I find that to run properly you really need to do some other form of exercise such as Pilates to keep a strong core. This also helps when trying to lose weight by toning your body.

Well i did it, i got back out after 5 months! Thank you for the replies, i re read the weeks and plumped for week 3 and it was just right enough to feel like i had pushed myself but not too much to put me off, i am back in the groove now so onwards and upwards, well onwards anyway!
