Just a quick question, I just phoned my local shop that does gait analysis (15 miles away). They said they don’t have a treadmill but use a running board. Has anyone else heard about this. Is a ASICS shop. Should I go there or look further afield?

Gait analysis
Personally, I would go for an independent running shop where you will get a greater range of running shoes, not just one brand. My store does the gait analysis by watching you run along the street rather than a treadmill but it’s where all the local running clubs go. It’s worth asking around for a recommendation.
It all depends on the skill of the individual who does the analysis.
A video analysis done on a treadmill makes it very clear what different shoes are doing to your gait.
I am sceptical that the average shop assistant would be able to reliably assess gait using none video techniques, but concede that an experienced operative may be capable. The difference is that you will be able to see and understand your gait where you can see the video, whereas the alternative leads you to have to accept the word of the operative.
I decided not to have the analysis done at a store that did not have treadmill and video equipment and went elsewhere.
