After seeing experienced runners messages, I went and done gait analysis today. I went to snow+rock place, there is a runners need shop within. But now I’m a bit confused as I didn’t take my socks off and my shoe size went up to 6,5. Normally I’m size 5 👣
I just read on here people get their analysis with bare foot. So do you think this analysis is not a good one? I’ve been told I’m neutral something and the shoes I tried on was brooks ghost. They were very comfy and expensive. I bought them but just a bit worried about buying the wrong kind of shoes.
I’m only on week 3 with the programme. I just want to look after my feet as I need them a lot during the runs 🤷🏻♀️
Runners need have a very good reputation and it’s very common to go into a bigger size for running as during a run your feet will expand. I wear a size bigger, some here are two sizes bigger.
Enjoy running in them, you should be very comfortable and that will make a big difference to the run.
Thank you for your reply Unfitnomore. My first time getting this gait analysis. I never heard it before this forum. I had to google it when I read the link i was given on here. They are definitely very comfy even if I have to eat beans on toast for a month I’m glad I got them. Actually maybe just toast not sure if I can afford beans 👻 I might dip my bread on the shoe box 🤪
I had my gait analysis done yesterday and went up a whole size, I was also tested in my running trainers not barefoot, trainers bought were also very expensive!
Think of your shoes as the only equipment you need, unlike other sports - cycling, golf etc, then the cost isn't so bad. I had my gait analysis wearing trainers and went up a size and also went for Brooks. I have to say worth every penny to run safely, and the cost is a motivation to keep going! Good luck with your running 😊
Thank you for posting your concern - I hadn’t considered such a thing but is something I’m now considering. I have a Snow+Rock store not too far away (if it’s still at the Retail Park), so I see a visit on the horizon (only thing I’m concerned about is the cost as I’m on a low income but H&S is important so...)
I had my gait analysis done by them as well. Doesn't really matter if your bare foot they can still see how your foot lands. I was told I was neutral with a narrow foot and what makes were suited for me. Then I know it's a bit naughty nut went and bought some aesics from a cheaper shop👍😁
