W5R1 Am I twinging?

Well we did the first of the week 5 runs today.

Do you know, it really wasn't so bad at all...once the first 5 mins were over, I did not enjoy them...or rather I didn't enjoy the first 4 minutes of the first run but then my breathing clicked and I was ''disappointed'' :-O when the run ended. *shock horror*. The last two runs went well and again we experimented with a sprint finish in the final minute...mostly because I really enjoyed it last time, but it was harder today. Still worth it!

5 hours later and I think I'm getting phantom niggles, you know when you think something might hurt a little but you're not sure if it actually does. Just my left leg seems to be twinging - and it might be my, ankle, shin and or calf, it just doesn't seem to be able to make up it's mind. Then again I might just be imagining it because I've seen a lot of posts about injury lately. #verysuggestable or I might be trying to find excuses not to try W5R2 which is some scary stuff...

Resist the urge to speed up. Your legs aren’t ready Keep going slowly and steadily and you’ll lose the niggles as you get stronger . It’s slow running and rest days that build running legs 😃👍

Your body is bound to notice the increased level of exertion and is protesting. It’ll get used to it 🙂

Hi jiggles7.

I'm going extra slow now.

I did W4R3 at a pace under 7 minutes / km to W5R1 at just under 10 minutes / km

Run slow. Get the job done. You can do it.

Hi Katnap, yeah I don’t think there is any chance of me embracing the sprint on the use coming runs. Today it felt ok and last week on the last run I thought I have more in me and people were talking about the sprints at the end so I shrugged and gave it a go. The phantom twinges disappeared after lunch so happy to report no damage done. My work wife on the other hand was loaded with a cold so I’m not out of the danger zone yet!🤣🤣😂
