RUN? OR NOT TO RUN?

I thought the odds were stacked against me:

❌ Lack of sleep

❌ Manic day in the office

❌ Lack of energy

Got home. It was chucking it down ☔️. I knew I needed to complete #couchto5k Week 4 Run 3 before next week.

MASSIVE thanks to my friend for her encouragement and the virtual kick up the ass that I needed. 😝

Positives taken from this run:

✅ I ENJOYED it. Even in the rain. ☔️

✅ The 1st 3min run felt really lightweight and free flowing.

✅ Pre stretching helps HUGELY

✅ I can feel the tops of my thighs getting stronger. Transferring less of the weight onto the feet and shins is really helping.

✅ Having more strength made me run extra than the prescribed last 5 min run.

✅ More physical and mental strength is really boosting the confidence.

This is the first time in the 4 weeks of #couchto5k I can actually say I ENJOYED RUNNING. There. I’ve said it. Maybe it’s the running bug, but whatever it is, please stay.

If I can do this ANYONE can.

Thanks for reading and the continued support and encouragement. I don’t think I’d half enjoy “the journey” without all my online buddies xx

Yes! We've hooked another one! Great job Chris. I firmly believe this forum, in addition to the programme, is what makes this programme so successful. You're rockin' it!

There are so many benefits doing it and I've also got a work colleague onto it too. Must have been sick of hearing me ranting about running. ;)

That’s done it Chris. You’re hooked! 😀👍🏃

Brilliant positives and the few negatives you dismissed like they were nothing!

I foresee lots more happy posts from you in the coming weeks. Good luck! 👏👏👏

Thanks cheekychops! I'm finding writing about it as therapeutic as reading about others journeys. I post after most runs on Instagram - instagram.com/chrisdemetriouuk
