Phew 😅. That felt hard this evening - a definite ‘grit your teeth and get through it’ run. I didn’t enjoy it much 😬.
I have just returned to straight runs after doing intervals post injury, building them up now so I get back to 30 minutes.
Today’s extra minute (26) felt a huuuge jump from Sunday’s run of 25 minutes!! I know it’s not, but I felt I had been running forever. I think the events of last week have caught up with me (hospital dash for teenage son to have his appendix out) plus I usually run in the mornings and have a couple of days between runs.
I know it’s not poor hydration or lack of stretching as I bang on about that to everyone else, so I’m mindful to practice what I preach! So I’m just putting it down as one of those runs and hope for better next time 🤞🏼......
Oh Delly-dot, you've had a hell of a week and still went out running - that's dedication. A lot of posts on the forum about not so great runs in the last few days! You know that run will just make you tougher!
Hi. You are so right with "You know that run will just make you tougher!" - I had a mantra going in my head which was something along those lines as I ran yesterday, just to get me through to the end! Thank you 😊
You have pulled through so much stuff with injuries and now the emotional strain of your son’s appendicitis. And yet you have kept going and supported loads of other struggling runners (like me!). You will bounce back in the meantime give yourself a break!
