Okay, so after reading lots of posts about this run being tricky, but on paper it looks easy, I was a little worried as I set off early this morning, but to be honest, I found it to be ok. Am l odd? I'm just very glad to be battling my inner demons and focussing on the lovely Sarah telling me that l can do this and so far so good, however I'm guessing there's a week or run out there that's got my name on it. Good luck to every runner especially those starting W6. Keep smiling.
W6R1 Am I missing something? : Okay, so after... - Couch to 5K
W6R1 Am I missing something?
Well done! Sending you a virtual high five 🤚 from a fellow runner the also ran W6R1 this morning... we can be odd together 😁
No...not odd at all.. And if you are. hundreds and hundreds of us are wonderfully odd too!
You are just running each run and taking each one for what it is. I di not have a problem with it either. Steady and slow gets you to Week nine wonderfully!
The weeks and the runs are different, they need to be, or we would not make progress...there have been some scary posts about Weeks or runs... and there is no need for them... as you are finding and proving, if folk trust the plan and have confidence in themselves... they will be fine.
For you now, the lovely long runs are beckoning... get ready to enjoy the runs that lead to the podium, even more... The week with your name on is the one with lights on it saying Graduation!!!
Well done .
Not odd. Maybe it was OK because you were expecting a challenge. The problem with W6 R 1 and 2 is that people expect them to be easy after being surprised at their success in W5R3. That’s based on the common mistake of looking at the length of individual runs rather than the total. Because you were aware that it could be challenging and approached it accordingly you did well. That, and the fact that every run is different and you can have a good or bad run any time for reasons that are not at all clear!
Yay, well done! You’ll never know whether being forewarned helped, or whether you’re a naturally awesome runner! I know which it was for me (not the second one!)
Anyway, it’s in the bag, now you can move on and smash the rest of the programme. You’re doing brilliantly! 👏👏👏👏👏
Yes I agree with you. I did wk 6 run 1 this morning and was dreading it as hadn’t been able to get out for 3 or 4 days but it was fine. I actually said to husband that the 8 min run was no problem ! Lol. I think after the last run of week 5 and managing for 20 mins this made the run ok this morning. Mind you the third run of week 6 is 25 mins. Eek!!!!
