AM I MISSING SOMETHING?.....

I have been sleeping terribly lately so have been keeping a close eye on my sleep activity on my new Garmin Vivoactive. Last night I went out for a meal with friends - wore my smart normal watch. Got home at 12.30, put my Garmin back on and went to bed at 12.45ish. Woke up at 7.15 this morning and saw that I'd slept for 10 hours! Great I thought - I felt as though I had ( which could have something to do with the meditation app I've been listening to to help me off to sleep 💤 - it works!) Then when I came to, I suddenly realised that this COULD NOT BE POSSIBLE. I went back to the app and then saw the correct amount of time that I'd slept but the app is showing 10h32m TODAY. So come on all you Garmin users - enlighten me! Incidentally, as soon as I woke up I synced the app!

Please don't judge me on the amount of steps I did yesterday - I am on the I C with an ankle injury!

Hi 59er goodness how did it come up with that? I don’t think i’d trust it, I think the average deep sleep per 8 hrs is 1-2hrs, my Garmin watch regularly thinks I’m asleep when I’m awake! I’ve no idea how it gets this data from just resting heart rate!

I can’t see any steps 👀... what matters is you recover well from injury, take care 🤗

I had a Fitbit before I invested in the Garmin and I have to say the Fitbit was spot on with my sleep activity. So much so that if I woke at 3 in the morning and got back to sleep at 5 it registered two sleeps which was great. Anyhow I think HelenofTroy123 has solved my problem 🤞 We will see! 😉

What is your bedtime set to? If you’ve taken your watch off and it doesn’t sense anything it often reverts to your set bedtime or when it last sensed movement as it’ll think you’re stationary and therefore asleep

Mine does this when I’ve watched a film and then gone to bed. Because I haven’t moved it thinks I’ve fallen asleep..... which lets face it..... I usually have with a film 😂😂

🤣🤣 that made me chuckle! I don't actually remember setting the time and I've just looked and it looks like 8.32! 🤦‍♀️ So you just put in your ideal bedtime - if you're still active after that time it doesn't assume you're having a nightmare and you're thrashing around? 🤪

Thank you! I'll change that now and see what happens.
