W9R2 flop!

So, I have many excuses for this! Shock horror I was up until 1AM last night & perhaps had a few too many gins.๐Ÿ˜ฑ Despite this and debating with myself whether to go out or not I decided to just go for it. Result, 20 minutes running at most, not even sure it was that much. However, unlike my week 7 wobble, I don't feel bad at all, the opposite in fact. At least I tried. The old me wouldn't have bothered! I know I can do 30 minutes. I'll maybe later off the gin next time.๐Ÿ™„

Good on you for trying. Gin is gonna dehydrate you though so itโ€™s for the evening after you ran. Sometimes unavoidable social commitments get in the way.

Yes indeed! I had considered not having a drink but being Scottish that is not really an option!๐Ÿ˜‚ ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ I try do leave alcohol out the night before a run. But good on you for getting out there and going for it anyway. Even if it was Gin powered running!!

Thanks Daveb. Yes, I knew it wasn't the best idea but sometimes unavoidable. Couldn't quite manage to say no! Will definitely try & avoid in future!

Friday night is Friday night! Plus Gin isnโ€™t too bad with calories. How are you finding the running?

Ha ha, indeed. I'm finding the running good. Apart from a disastrous (bit dramatic) W7 run for the most part my runs have been ok, hard but good and parts have almost been enjoyable! Never thought I'd say that. I am still pretty slow but not too bothered about that at this stage. How long since you graduated and how are you doing now?

โ€ข in reply toSuse70

I graduated 3 runs ago. Doing ok. I ran 6.5k this morning, last run was 7.5k (i thought the run i did this morning was the same as previous ๐Ÿ™„)

Having a bit of jip with me left knee but Iโ€™m managing. I just need to sort some new running clothes out ready for the colder weather I think

Wow, 7.5k. I can only dream......maybe this time next year! That's amazing. I too need to sort out what to wear as it gets colder/wetter. Not sure my pacamac will cut it. Hope your knee is ok.

๐Ÿ˜‚Pacmac. Got to love em! I need a breathable jacket and maybe some sort of trousers?? Itโ€™s always a bit cold around 5am!!

5am! Yikes, that is going to be hard in winter! I was patting myself on the back for being out at 5.50 on Thursday but definitely prefer morning runs. I've got some running tights which sound ridiculous but do the job. I'm sure you can get them for men. It's a good look.๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

โ€ข in reply toSuse70

๐Ÿ˜‚ yeah they would probably be nice to wear. Horrid to look at!! Iโ€™d probably have to wear shorts too? Yeah have to get up then so I can get everything sorted ready for leaving for work etc. I have bought a head torch but not used it yet ๐Ÿ˜ฎ

Yes, not attractive! Maybe shorts too then but don't imagine you encounter many people at 5am. I need a head torch too as it's already quite dark at 6am. Happy running. Hopefully I can reach the exalted ranks of the graduates soon.๐Ÿคž

โ€ข in reply toSuse70

๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ‘ actually yeah. I very rarely pass anyone so I could run in whatever I wanted! Yeah you will do just fine Iโ€™m sure. I went for a runners head torch by a company called Olight. Not cheap but supposed to be amazing.

I did mine on 3/4 bottle of red and improved on my last run but it is all down to individual differences. I always plan to have a sober pre run night but then I get excited/nervous and have 'one for the road' which usually means two or three....๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

Ha ha, well there may come a time when I have a post red wine run...will let you know how that goes!๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚

I love that planning a morning run is motivation to keep things on moderation. But hey it was Friday and it Felt good..... at the time ๐Ÿ’ƒ

You got out there and gave it a shot so don't be too hard on yourself !

Thank you! Abstaining was briefly considered and dismissed! Do tend to avoid alcohol the night before but sometimes stuff just comes up ๐Ÿ˜‚
