Follow the link from IannodaTruffe ... the first runs can throw us... it is all new and different:) Your body wonders what is happening.

My advice, and you will get really tired of hearing it..is slow and steady. It works... So.. some stretching and a good walk maybe and when you head out to do this run again... think, slow snail, on a go slow... Snails rock and they get where they want to be in their own good time

Well done you!!!

There is a way to go, and it is a great path to follow, so no need to rush

Well done for starting and don't be disheartened...you are definately not the first to find this run hard! Next time out, slow it down and this should help. 'Slow and steady ' is a much quoted mantra on this forum - pace will increase naturally as you get fitter and stronger. Good luck with the programme and keep checking in here - it is a great place for support, advice and just sharing the journey! 🙂

I didn't know how long my route would take me and arrived at Boots after run 3 or 4. And I needed that rest while I waited to be served! Took will power to finish and not just walk home. Run 2 was better. Slow; needed those 90sec walks which were not brisk. Getting over the embarrassment of being out there as a poor runner, thanks to this forum. Give it another go. We can take a year building this up if we want to!

I’m very overweight and can’t run at all yet, so don’t worry. I tried a bit of jogging in 1:1 and could hardly walk the next day, so now I walk normally for the walk and as if I’m trying to get to the shop before it closes for the runs. I’m going to repeat week 1 indefinitely until I can actually jog all the runs, then move on. So you’re already going much faster than I am ! It’s a marathon, not a sprint, if you’ll pardon the cliche. Enjoy 😉

I'm overweight too, so this helps a lot! Thank you, indefinitely repeating week 1 doesn't sound like a bad idea either!

I was disappointed to find how unfit I really am, but I suppose once you know the truth you can start to do something about it !

Every time I get out there instead of sitting at home thinking of food is one small victory 😁

My grandfather used to say the only way to fail is not to try. I was to young and stupid to understand at the time, but it is good advice. You are stronger than you think, this program will teach you that if you let it. That you started is amazing, the community is hear to help.
