Completed week 4r3.
Can’t believe I’m ready to start wk5r1.😊
Each run I’m feeling I’m getting stronger more fit. Hopefully will continue to keep motivated and continue to stay focused.

Great job... and yes spot on... stronger and fitter every run.
When I think back to when I first started running I genuinely thought it’s going to be hard going.
I have organised my week so I always make sure I complete my 3 runs every week.
Staying focused really has helped and I’m aware I’m going to have good days as well as bad. However I’m going to focus on the good days. 🤗
Eyes wide open, plan in place... you got this.
Hi
Thanks for your responses.?How are you getting on with your running???
I’ve had a couple of expected injuries, I’ve nursed weak knees for 30 years, but apart from that it’s going well. Week one nearly killed me, I was a little surprised how much I’d lost as a former athlete... but what’s great is it isn’t taking anywhere near as long to get it back. I’m starting week 5 tomorrow and the full on run looms at the end of the week... I’m ready. I know I’ll never do what I used to, but I never used to run 5k, 4 was my limit, so I’m not bothered that PB from way back is impossible now. I’m loving being back doing the thing I was best at though, I’m still competitive with myself, and I’ll be the best I can be. I’m having to learn about thinks like hills for the first time, my tracks used to be damn flat. I’m loving it, my knees may blow up again, no more I can do about that than I already am, but week 9 will go down, then in a couple of years marathon du medoc is gonna be a whole heap of fun.
Basically, it’s going pretty well 😂😂
Hi
I used to enjoy cross country running at school and like you was good at it.
It’s heartening to feel your body responding to the tracing and how quick it can happen
Great to hear your enjoying your running and it’s addictive. Lol
Wow best of luck with week 5 tomorrow. I start week 5 on Wednesday whether it’s sunny, raining or whatever it has to happen. Fingers crossed you have a great run. Be proud of yourself and well done you.😊
I hated cross country... avoided it like the plague... strange really as that is now my running heaven 😂. Give me a track and I was a happy boy!
I’m still getting over the “I did this to me” bit... but I’m also proud to be undoing it.
I too will run in any weather, I’m just fearing ice and having to confront the dreadmill!
Run 3 this week will be my one look at the stats... I’ve challenged my marathon/ultra running mate to a mile race, and there’s beer riding on it... so I need to know how much work I have to do before he comes visiting... luckily he’s in Strava so I can see all just stats, and I log all my runs in Nike, so he can’t see mine 😂
Let’s go kick week 5’s ass.
Ah you have been converted to cross country.
Be proud of yourself, your doing great. Keep me posted how you get on tomorrow. If you have any tips about week 5 let me know. I’m listening to Michael Johnston who I have to say is keeping me well motivated.
I’m finding the training it appears to be going quickly which makes me think I’m coping well with the training?.
Hopefully I will continue to improve as you are also dong.😊
Yay we can do this
Well, for a sprinter, he knows what he’s talking about 😂. I use Sarah as I don’t see her as judgemental... all irrelevant as they’re all supportive I know. Run 3 I’m running with Dina Asher-Smith, MJ is a big fan of hers. Could be a few golds in her I think.
Yeah, if it’s going quickly it can’t be too bad! I used to hate 4K day, it dragged... 10 x 400m I loved, and it passed quickly... even though it was longer.
You’ll continue to improve for sure... it’s in the mindset. A strong mind beats strong legs every day... these intervals have shown me how much, I have to fight the legs to go again... but they give in pretty easily. The free running is where I’ll be happiest, and it’s not far away now. Then later I can get back to jog, run intervals that I’m not capable of just yet... I’m getting close though and that maybe my plan for W6R1 which is gonna me the most testing for me... 8 minutes means go fast more than any other time for me.
