I DID IT!!! Week 1; run 1! I look like a tomato but knowing it was 90 walk 60 run I felt like i had control of the excerise! So happy and proud of myself. Genuinely felt so happier afterwards, but not healthier as I felt my body bounce and wobbly loads when running

Well done! That’s the hardest one out of the way - you're off the couch! Good luck, and keep going!

If that’s the hardest one, I’m more confident now in the difficulty of the others! Thanks

Well done you!!!

W1R1 is the hardest to get out of the front door for, so you can feel immensely proud just for that alone :-)

Bring on the next one, you'll be more than ready after a rest day!

Thanks guys! I’m kinda of gutted we have a day rest just because I’m full of enthusiasm! I can feel my legs shake a bit though hehe

You don't have to spend your rest day on the couch - you can do certain kinds of exercise but not running. Low impact exercise such as walking and swimming are fine. Because you always have one foot on the ground when you're walking, it's much lower impact than running and your muscles can still recover and repair. So if you're itching to get out tomorrow, go for a nice brisk walk. Or a swim, if that's more your thing. 'Rest' day just means rest from running.

Will I be ok to cycle for 20 minutes? Your advice is great!

Yes, as far as I know cycling is classed as low impact exercise as well.

You’ll feel a little healthier soon... it takes a little time to get used to the cycle of run, recover, run...

The fact you felt happy at the end is great... remember that feeling for when a run gets tough... use it to drive you on and pull you home.

Great job getting off that couch and completing the first... it’s the hardest step to take.
