Blimey. I knew was unfit, but really expected that to be easier. Worked up a sweat! Haha. I realise that these long meandering walks I do are better than nothing, but don’t really get the heart rate up. Need to stick this out!
First run in the bag. : Blimey. I knew was unfit... - Couch to 5K
First run in the bag.
Yup, week 1 is tough, that’s for sure. But you'll be ok now you know what to expect. Good luck, and keep going!
Good for you!! Well done on getting your trainers and getting out there. Get ready to astonish yourself xx
Well done - first week is tough - it's a bit of a shock - 60 secs never felt so long😊
Enjoy rest of week and beyond good luck x
Week one is the hardest. Well done!
I am about to start week 9 BUT the hardest run for me was definitely week1 run1, I struggled to complete it, then looked on here for advice and slowed down dramatically. Yes, its been hard, but not as bad as that first one. Slow down, you can do it
And stick it out you will! It’s an amazing programme and you’ll find all the help you need on here with us lot. 👋👋
Well done for getting started, and have fun! 😀😀😀
Thank you SO much! It makes a massive difference having people to talk to and share it with who really know what it's like. I'll try to have fun!!! Haha. This bit is fun. Talking to you lot!
Welcome to the forum and well done on getting started.
This guide to the plan is essential reading healthunlocked.com/couchto5...
Enjoy your journey.
Well done. It’s a very hard run that first one. You can beat this challenge.
I just finished week 3, my first run was awful and it really took it out of me, keep going one session at a time x
Thank you SOlb. I couldn't believe how hot and sweaty I got! Haha. That's when I realised that my current 'walking' wasn't enough. I was so stiff a couple of hours later. Enjoying my recovery day today. A little light gardening and cleaning. Run 2 scheduled for tomorrow. x
Totally agree with Bandit14 and the rest, week one was a real shock for me too. However, you will get through this. We are all here for you. We have broad shoulders when you need us.
Great decision to start this life changing programme! Welcome to C25K!
W1R1 is hard but its a positive first step to improving your health and well being. Please remember that its not about going fast - it's about keeping going . . . slow and steady . . . . or slower. . . . or slower than slow ... Just dig deep and keep going. There will be plenty of time to work on your speed once you have graduated.
W9R3 will be here before you know it and you too, will marvel at how much you've achieved in three runs a week for nine weeks 😊 Everyone's a winner in C35K!
Please keep posting your progress and let us know how you get on x x
