The heatwave is still in full swing here and I set off on my normal 5k route down in the valley. To be honest I just wanted to get it over with as itβs so hot. Plodded along the valley waiting for Garmin to buzz as each km passed by. At 5km I was almost at the end of the path, but still feeling ok so I turned around and ran back in the opposite direction until I got that 6th buzz. Yay! Not exactly fast at 47:53, but that's the longest & farthest I've ever run. I vividly remember how hard it was to run for 1 minute when I started this thing in May, so I frankly find this quite hard to believe!
C25K is truly amazing!
P.S. can anyone tell me why my legs wonβt tan? π

I hate it to be honest, but I have little alternative as I need to carry wallet, keys, water, phone etc. It only weighs about 2kg but I'm going to get something running-specific to replace it
I have an Armpocket (armpocket.com/) for my phone, which also takes keys plus it will easily take a credit card and a Β£5/10/20 note if I think I might need money. I don't carry water with me on runs as I've read that it isn't all that necessary for shorter distances I do right now. However, I do have a nice slim water bottle with strap that would not be too awkward to carry if I did want to have it with me (amazon.co.uk/dp/B01L76TI6W)
In previous attempts at running, I've tried various backpacks and a bum bag, but am far happier without either if at all possible.
I was thinking of you when I tackled my βhillβ this morning. I live in East Anglia!! Turns out it was only my head that thought I couldnβt do it! Well done you
Wow thatβs amazing - Iβve really taken a backwards step in the heatwave - now I can only seem to manage 10mins then have to walk for 5 then run for 5 etc! Itβs so depressing - I can cycle 20miles no bother but running... π still trying though! You look great in your pictureπββοΈ - keep it going- well done π
Fab! I had a similar moment when I was planning on running for 30 minutes this morning, felt ok and then thought I'd keep going to 5k and then still felt ok so kept going for another couple of minutes to 40 minutes. Such a good feeling when our bodies kind of surprise is by asking for a little more! (Ps - I also have a backpack!)
