First post grad run done

hadn't managed to run since Monday so was determined to go out today ,had child taxi duties to do this evening first so ended up going out at nearly 9 in a mad blizzard! Tried in vain to find a baseball cap in the house to keep the snow out of my eyes, but did find a tweed cap! I must have been an odd sight with my lycra tights, high viz waterproof and tweed bonnet but it did the job and there wasn't a soul in sight thankfully! Did 5k in 39 minutes, probably my slowest where walking was not involved but I think the heavy snow, and poor light were a good enough excuse for that! As it was later and rubbish weather I had to avoid the roads and ended up doing an odd couple of loops round a football field and woodland, football field was ok for seeing but was running into the snow ,and the woods were more sheltered ,but could hardly see the tree roots , still enjoyed the run but much prefer a circular route to going round and round, but at least I got it done and hopefully my next run will be a parkrun on Saturday! Had to use the car lights to take a snow pic as was too dark for my phone otherwise!

Wow congrats on going out in that! Where do you live? Its been hailing in Manchester and I though I was doing good for going out in that.

Brilliant - well done. My 5K time (both since graduation) is around 40 minutes so you are in good company :-).

The weather is making it hard to stay dry or know what to wear, one minute it's hailing, then out pops the sunshine!!  Falling is very risky, I tripped in the woods on Monday, landing on soft undergrowth but it could have been much worse, the last thing we need is an injury.  Maybe u will start a new hat trend in the running community.  I find if my head is warm and dry, I feel ok

Well done on your graduation run; especially in such circumstances. A great achievement!
