Only did my first run yesterday and I'm aching, sounds like a whinge, is this how I should feel??
Ouch: Only did my first run yesterday and I'm... - Couch to 5K
Ouch

If you havenโt done exercise for a while, then your muscles will complain. But it will get better, I promise.
Make sure to rest for at least one day before you take your next run, to allow any micro tears to heal.
Chin up, you can and you will do it.

YEP!
The good news is Terry . . . . . WE'VE ALL BEEN THERE!
The aches, the pains, the joys, the disappointments; it's all coming your way over the next nine weeks or so. But in 3 months times you'll look back and agree, that it was all worth it.
I'd never been a runner before this program, now I am a regular Parkrunner. Having said that, listen to your body which means don't ignore aches and pains! Yes your muscles, tendons, ligaments, heart, lungs etc all have to get used to the different work your're asking them to do, so in the few few weeks, more than ever - take it easy, take it slow and if your body says stop, then STOP!
Suffering an injury early on is the fastest way to get discouraged!
Enjoy and keep running (slowly).
Thanks for the advice, I used to be an orienteerer so didn't realise that I was so unfit, I'll get there there's no rush ๐
There certainly isn't any rush Terry, and it's a point worth noting; C25k in nine weeks is just a guide. Nobody says it must be done in that time. Repeat runs, repeat weeks, take a week off what ever the hell you want to do.
In the end, you are doing this for you. But hopefully for this, you won't need your map and compass
I really ached after my first 2 runs but it's gone away now. Started week 2 yesterday so ran for longer but still no aches today. Just your body adjusting to moving your muscles in a way it's not used to. It'll fade.

Yes, I felt it after my runs in the first few weeks. Did you do some stretches after you finished? That made a difference for me.

if youโre new to exercise then yes ๐

Slowly, slowly ๐ช๐๐. Whatever you do, keep the speed down That way youโll stay the course

Well thatโs good as regards walking Running is another matter. Slow things right down and youโll see No hurry!

Itโs good pain though, isnโt it ๐
Ibuprofen was my best friend in the first few weeks ๐ณ
Good luck and well done on starting ๐ช๐ฝ
