Ouch! Ouch! Poor old feet.

Morning all. Have reached W7 and have so far had a fairly comfortable journey so was feeling lucky until a couple of days ago. My feet are really achy and in need of some kind of rescue remedy. My running shoes seem to fit well and my socks are cushioned so I can only think it must be my style. I've tried massaging and stretching my feet and last night used Brufen gel. Does anyone please have any words to help my poor feet? ๐Ÿ˜ณ

How new are your shoes? You might want to consider having a gait analysis done so that you can get the 'correct' shoes for your style (I am no expert here though).

Hi and thank you for your reply. My running shoes are a few weeks old and when buying they checked my feet on a heat pad and advised the type of runners I should go for so I'm hoping I have the right shoes๐Ÿ‘ฃ

In which case - take lordluton's advice!

Feet take a pounding when you start running. Try a couple of gel ice packs on the soles for 15 mins (I got some from Sports Direct pretty cheaply), a hot bath, and the Brufen gel. And of course, take a rest day.

The pain doesn't last too long, in my experience.

Thank you for your advice LordLuton. I'll definitely be trying the ice pack etc this morning and the rest later. Today is a rest day so will pamper my feet and hope they recover quickly so I can run again tomorrow.

Epsom Salts. Lacrosse ball

Thank you. I have Dead Sea salt with eucalyptus. Will a tennis ball do?

You put the ball under your foot and start to move it in small circular motions, up and down and side to side. It exercises every part of the foot

The feet have to get used to the rigours of running. Standing on one leg regularly, doing balancing exercises are all ๐Ÿ˜Š good

Another vote for rolling your feet on a tennis ball or maybe something a bit bigger. I use a soft rubber one that I 'borrowed' from my son! God luck.๐Ÿ™‚

Roll a small bottle of frozen water under your foot. Feels fab ๐Ÿค—

Thanks guys. I've tried everything you all suggested and now my feet are feeling so much better already. My feet are loving all the attention. I've got a feeling they'll be ok for my run tomorrow. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

How are the feet this morning?

After following all of the advice shared yesterday my feet are so much better meaning I could run comfortably in the rain this morning. My first rain run was lovely and refreshing so from now on the rain won't stop me getting out there. Also there will also be a frozen bottle of water waiting for me when I get home....just in case. Thanks again.๐Ÿค—
