Ouch my calf hurts .....

Last night I completed W4R4 I have had a tight calf muscle for the last few runs but have been ignoring it - however this morning it really hurts getting better as the day goes on but still very sore - is it ok to run tomorrow??

I suffered with these in the early weeks and I was told to run through it if it's a pain that eases the more you use it. Take a look on YouTube or cool running and find some really good stretches, that helped me loads. Also remember you need to drink loads of water. Muscles need it to repair.

All the above! And I have just put a heel lift in my trainer and the run was much better :) Now my knees have started ...:D

Thanks well I took your advice and have just done W5R1 and found it easy calf still sore but I'm stretching it out I could have kept running as I thougjt it was four five minute runs not three quite disappointed to stop ! Thanks for help

I find this stretch (using stairs) really helps when my calves are tight and sore:

"Place your right foot on the lowest step, and your left foot on the next step up. Move your right heel so that it’s hanging off the step, and drop it until you feel a deep stretch in the “belly” of your large (the one that’s visible) calf muscle. Hold for at least 30 seconds, breathing smoothly, and concentrating on feeling the muscle relax and elongate. Repeat on the left side." :)
