Restart ?

I completed the programme a few weeks ago, managed to do three 30 mins runs a week for a couple of weeks, then went on holiday to Sorrento, took my running things, but due to the heat and everywhere being up hill I didn't get any runs in , been back a week and have not managed in the heat to restart my running. Really want to get back on it but don't think I could pick up where I left off, should I restart the whole programme or go back to week 5 or 6 any advice appreciated.

I would just try the 30 minutes try early morning or later at night . You don’t need to go back on the programme. You can do it 👍

Hi Dawnie hope you had a great holiday. How long ago was your last run? If it's only a couple of weeks that won't be long enough for you to have lost condition so you definitely don't need to do the whole programme again. As dory950 go either early or late to avoid the heat and I would try a slow steady 30 minute run and see how you get on x

Already been said. (Gently) throw yourself back in where you were. The heat has been horrid for running so lots of fluid, run early or forget it, take it slow.

Hope you had a fab holiday!

Hi Dawnie16 as my other graduate buddies Jay66UK and pianoteacher have said no need to repeat. Why don’t you just do week 9 again as part of your consolidation? You’ll get back where you were in no time. The heat is affecting all of us. 😓😊

Ditto what everyone else has said. I went on holiday for nearly 3 weeks after week 6 - came back and did the 28mins, having only done it once before - it was a bit hard but completely doable. Youve done weeks at 30mins already so i think you would be fine.

Hi Dawnie,

Glad you had a nice holiday.

If it were me, I would work out a route that would take about half an hour, then take it on at a steady pace.

If at any point you feel like walking it, do so.

That way you have a benchmark from which to start.

Hi RobW73 I was going to go out and give it a go tonight but it's still far too hot for me feeling drained without doing anything ! Will see if it cools down a bit in the week but think I will do what you say do my usual route but if I need to walk for a bit I will.

Just go out and see how long you can do! I bet you can get to 25 at least!

Have decided I'm going out for a run tonight, it's a bit cooler today, not going to have a plan, just going to put my music and Strava on and see how I get on . Thanks for all the help and support
