First park run!!!

10 months ago I had a large undiagnosed tumour on my adrenal gland. Over 2 years I had became very sick, had uncontrollable high blood pressure, palpitations, became diabetic and threw up on a daily basis. Eventually any physical activity like going up the stairs and even getting out of bed would result in my blood pressure and sugar levels going sky high and I would vomit. Exactly 10 months ago today my body could take no more and I had a seizure. What resulted was a 10 day stay in hospital where the doctors eventually found the tumour causing all the problems. (Pheochromocytoma) After 4 weeks of being stabilised I had major surgery in October which resulted in 3 days in ICU as my body figured out how to work properly again. I’m no longer diabetic and my blood pressure is normal. It’s been a long and at times difficult journey and still continues having just had genetic counselling and testing for my condition. However today I achieved a massive milestone and ran my first official Park Run!!! (Thanks for inspiring me John!) I may have been slow but I completed it! I firmly believe I have been given a second chance in life, and that makes me more determined than ever to squeeze every last drop out of life and run with enthusiasm and determination into my destiny. Life is for living. So watch out world - I’m back!!
