Going into week 9 today. Completed my 1st park run on Saturday in not a bad 33.01 seconds coming 349!!!!!! 8 weeks ago I struggled to run 1 minute. Now I can run for 34 minutes. And I have spend a fortune on running gear so need to keep up this new obsession in my life!!!

Thanks. It's not been easy but I've stuck with the programme. If I can do it so can you!

Just slow and steady.. and remember the idea is to get to the thirty minute runs.. injury free and comfortably..:)

Well done Rachel, I’ve just finished Week 4 and planning to do my local parkrun in a couple of weeks time.

Who’d have thought we could do this 2 months ago.

Hat off to you for getting the parkrun done. Now you have a time registered I am sure you will be back there soon looking to get a new PB.

👍🏃❤️

Well done, that gives me hope as I start week 9 on Wednesday. Oh - you need to change your username!!!

This is inspiring to keep going, but only to 30mins by w9 and no more! In a way the programme is not actually being stuck to, rushing the programme may only bring about sessions on the injury couch, it takes a few years to build strong running legs. I like the enthusiasm though!😊

Love the enthusiastic approach....you did well... but I have to agree with davelinks ..for folk not at Week 9.....just sticking to the programme and running for the 30 minutes in week nine is probably the thing.

It is all too easy for folk to get injured... and a lot of folk are being tempted to try Park Run and actually 'run' it ( the whole of it), far too early in the programme.. even before Week three and many before the longer runs kick in, in Week seven... in some cases. Even allowing for difference in age and ability, the legs, as Dave says.. do need to build up and it is the hidden injuries that cause the issues. Strength and stamina too, has to build.. with exercise on the rest days..the IC is not a great place to be .

I did my first park run as my graduation run but stuck to programme and did my normal warmup walk, listened to Mr Smooth and it was brilliant. Great time there well done but try sticking to 30 min run for this week at least and we will see you on the podium soon 👍
