After always thinking I wasn’t a runner - or exerciser - life finally caught up with me and my metabolism slowed down...leading to my friend kindly suggesting that I look at C25k.

Well I have had the app for ages and tonight I finally did it. My trusty companion Ivy the dog came along for moral support and motivation to keep running!

We did it! Something I never thought I would do and looking forward to our second run!

Feeling quite proud of myself 😁

Do you have any tips to alleviate and prevent shin pain?

I want to do my second run this evening but my shins are still quite painful

Slow down, avoid heelstriking, keep footfall under your body not out in front, run on grass or treadmill and wear proper running shoes fitted after a gait analysis done at a specialist running.

It is basically caused by impact.
