Sometimes life just happens! It just gets in the way..... through no fault of it's own, there are just too many curve balls...

I haven’t run since Tuesday 5th (11 days W7R1), as I went on a stag weekend last Thursday 7th to Marbella, and although I took my running gear with me, I was too tired to run in the mornings. We had flight delays (thanks French air traffic control!) on Sunday night coming home which meant that I didn’t get home until 5.30am on Monday morning.

This week, its felt like jet lag! And only yesterday did I feel semi able to run again, but I was out last night with a client. I am WFH today and out again tonight with Beyoncé & Jay Z. I had to run today..... and run I did. I didn't expect to run the full 25 minutes, I thought I'd even take a little walking break if needed, but I had to get out again.

11 days ago I’d run 25 minutes twice (Sunday 3rd & Tuesday 5th) – and this run was a "breaking back in run" so I also ran naked (without Laura).

I did a warm up walk, then ran to roughly where (just before) half way of 25 minutes is, then ran back to where I started. In total, I walked 8 minutes (2x4) and ran for 22. I don’t think that’s too shabby given the length of time I have not run for!!

A friend of mine does Iron man and all that malarkey, and he said this "sometimes we think we have to run a lot to improve but the body needs to recover, and even doesn’t sound like you have been recovering but your muscles might have needed the rest, and that why you could achieve the 22"

I'm back baby!!!! confession over.

Laura I promise I'll be back with you on Sunday for my official W7R2.

I though you were trapped in some Spanish jail!! Running on the spot. Good to have you back. Everyone you once knew has now graduated and therefore won't speak to you any more. It's just us lot left.

Now say 25K Hail Marys, get off your knees, and run around a bit when you feel better :-)

Well done. Well done for even thinking of taking your running gear on a stag abroad! Enjoy Laura’s honeyed tones for the next on.

Cheers Jay! The stag assured me he knew I wasn’t going to run! The late nights didn’t bother me, but my body clock woke me up at 6am (UK time) everyday! #knackered

Yay! Jogzilla is back! Was thinking about you last night wondering if the stag do had turned into The Hangover. I think you are right that the rest would do you good. You had a lot of niggles before you left didn’t you? Have they cleared up now? Well done for the return run!

Ha! Cheers mate. It was a brilliant weekend but very very tiring.... avg 3 hrs sleep a night for 3 nights, then no sleep at all on way home on Sunday!

I still haven’t actually caught up but at least I’m getting 6/7 hrs a night!

Today wasn’t as hard as I thought it might be, so I (my body) definitely needed the rest. Will bang out R2 on Father’s Day (before we eat!).

Hope all is going well mate, I’ve been following all the guys and you seem to have found a groove outdoors!?

Oh my goodness! 3 hours sleep a night? You must have been knocking back the vodka / red bull’s to stay awake! 😂

Yeah - had an awful run on the treadmill and haven’t looked back. Have also found my snail pace. Good luck on Sunday. I’m sure Laura will forgive you!
