Ran over the finish line today in a faster time than last week 30:49!
Walked the first 5 mins again today. Going to try to run the whole thing next week which I think might result in a slower time. Not too bothered though - I couldn't ever have imagined running 5k no stop 8 weeks ago.
If you are considering doing Parkrun - go for it! It is a fantastic fun friendly way to get outside and get some exercise with others. There are some really fast runners, some walkers at the back and everything else inbetween.
Parkrun really is for everyone

My aim is to go under 30mins then maybe do some volunteering marshalling or backwalking. After that will try some other courses - if I can get up on a Saturday morning early enough to travel 😂
Well done! Great time too. I’ve got one more w7 run to do and I’m definitely planning a park run in the next couple of weeks. Just wondering if you felt you ran a bit quicker than usual because of the other runners or if you kept to your usual pace?
I think maybe a little bit quicker but not much. I'm actually training to run a shorter distance in a quicker time and as I said above did have a good level of fitness before I started. We had pacers today for times between 20mins(!!!!) and 37mins so if you wanted to go at a specific pace you could run alongside them x
My aim next week will be to run the whole course. Was talking to a lady who finished one place ahead of me and told her I hadn't run the whole course yet and she advised me to not think about time at all for the first go - just to run at a comfortable pace.
I will heed both of your advice next week - definitely want to stay injury free x
