Hi all

After a tough start to week 8 I took on my first parkrun this morning and cannot believe that I actually completed it without walking any of it. Yes it took me 40mins and 13secs but having never run a 5k and fully expecting to have to walk part of the course I am feeling delighted. This running business really can make you feel great.

Congratulations on completing your first 5k Parkrun, 40.13 is really good for a first 5K run, well done on not having to walk at all. 😊 🏃🏾

Fantastic. Congratulations on your first parkrun. Running it all is a great achievement. Now you have a PB time to work towards beating next week. It’s a lovely way to kick off the weekend isn’t it?

Thank you. Yeah it was good start to my weekend. Think my Saturday mornings could be set aside for Parkrun going forward.

Just wait until you get really involved. It becomes very addictive. It’s also an amazing way to meet new people and get involved in your local community.

Yeah it was better than I thought and people were really supportive along the way. Enjoy your running this week, we are nearly there.

Well done! It's a great feeling. My advice to avoid injury is take it easy for a while ans let your muscles adapt. Still do two periods of exercise during the week and parkrun at the weekend. It's a great feeling to be part of something that's growing. Enjoy the run but easy does it. I'm now addicted to park run and it sets up the weekend.

Now aim for that 50 runs shirt!
