Occasional shooting pains on top of right foot

I did w5 r3 and w6 r1 on consecutive days (Sat/Sun)- usually leave a day’s rest in between but yesterday noticed my right foot was sore along top with occasional shooting pains. It’s getting sore again today although not swollen. Did I overdo it? Can I do anything to help? Ice and elevate? I am considering getting my gait analysis redone although got new Asics at start of the programme but most of my niggles still seem to be on my right side. Am due to run tonight but don’t want to overdo it. :-/

I would rest it a few days and then see how you feel.

People do the 20 min run then think they have cracked it. Rest days are important!

Hope you are better soon.

Could it be anything to do with how you lace your shoes maybe?

I get that sometimes, especially soreness and only in one foot. It’s the foot that’s bigger so I’m careful to make sure laces not too tight - but still happens from time to time. An extra few days rest helps for me. Googling suggests Extensor Tendinitis if it helps.

Thanks! I have had lacing issues so may avoid that top hole next time! Will Google. :-)

Try this. You actually use the top hole but thread laces differently. There are probably better links but this shows what I’m using locklaces.com/blogs/resourc...

Thanks. That’s how I have them laced up. I’m now wondering if it’s a sprain although no visible swelling. :-/

I guess maybe try resting a few days and see how it goes?

Yes, think that’s all I can do for now.

And now the pain (which isn’t as bad) seems to be moving up and around the leg. Weird!!
