Hi everyone, I'm very new to running but am enjoying it immensely.
Last week (my second week) I started getting pains in the top front section of my ankle. It has stopped me running which is understandably frustrating, especially as I can't work out how I did it.
Something I read said it might have been caused by doing up my laces too tight but I've been out for nearly a week now and am getting anxious to get back out there.
Any ideas would be much appreciated as I feel very disheartened and don't want to lose momentum.
Thanks
Jack

I've found the best thing for any foot pain - at all stages in my running career - has been soaking my feet about twice a day in warm (closer to hot) water with epsom/sea salt, until the water becomes room temperature. I did this every day for the first few weeks of Cto5k. If it still doesn't get better then I second what misswobble says, you might need to see the doc.
I had this problem. When I had it, I even had it with shoes I didn't have to tie--if a shoe merely TOUCHED the top of my foot, it was sore while walking. I had this problem for about a month--but not from running.... I switched out shoes trying to find a solution to no avail. When I was running, I merely put on my shoes and tied them without tightening them at all and have not had the problem after weeks (yes, weeks!) of a sore foot....
