It's done, week 1 is complete. Found it quite difficult, especially mentally as during the run I kept asking myself WHY !!

Well done.

Something must have spurred you to start, so surely that is the answer to your question. We cannot answer that for you, but if you ask "Is it worth it?" then the answer is a resounding "Yes!!!!"

C25k transforms not only your health and fitness but also your mental state and self esteem. It is Win, win, win.

If it is very hard work, you are probably going too fast . Jog at an easy conversational pace, as laid out in the guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

Stick with it and you will reap the rewards.

Super advice, as always, above. I’ve found a lot of this malarkey is mind over matter...keep being positive and it’ll feel much easier. Good luck, 👍👍👍

Maybe find something to distract you from the existential questions while you are running! This is as much (if not more) a mental discipline. Try to remain in the moment, run mindfully; listen to your music, enjoy the movement and the world around you. Have fun :)

Well done for getting on and doing it but instead of asking 'why'? you should be asking 'why not'? :) :)

Why not indeed!

I had a moment in one of my first races when I questioned what the hell I thought I was doing. However, I was quickly reassured and my mind put at rest, when I clocked all the other ladies of a certain age that I was surrounded by, all bombing round and having a blast 😃 What could be better than an early morning race on a cold Wintry morning. What’s the alternative, a bit of light dusting, doing the ironing 😁. No contest! 💪😃👍🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeha! 💪

Thank you, I am pilates fit but running I am like an old war horse puffing away. I wasn't thinking of dusting but curling up with a good book.

But at 67 one would expect a bit of resistance from the lazy gene.

Absolutely, those little gremlins appear as soon as they think their cosy little existence is under fire!! Kick the little buggers to the kerb and run free!! A few more weeks and you'll be thinking "why didn't I do this years ago!" 👍😁
