So, finished run 3 week 1 today and each run is becoming more and more enjoyable! I know it’s only week 1,and there are much harder weeks to come, but I’m hoping each week brings the same levels of enjoyment and sense of accomplishment that week 1 has.
Having been fairly inactive for the last 6 or so years, (and also turning 52) I was beginning to think I would never get back to any resemblance of the level of fitness I once enjoyed. I’m glad to report that my hips and back are far from ready for the knackers yard and honestly believe I can do this again!!
I have no doubt I may wobble in future weeks but, if I do, I am sure that pull me up by my chinstrap and get me going again!😃
Now, bring on week 2!! ✅

Stick with it........it doesn't get harder and it doesn't get much easier, until you graduate and can ease back on weekly increase in demands. The satisfaction just builds and builds into a silly grin.
I recently graduated - now on consolidation runs. I was never a runner and downloaded the C25K app a couple of years ago (when I was 52). Well done on having the 'get up and go' (i.e. courage) that did not have back then, until a few short months ago. You've done week 1 onto week 2. You have this fantastic forum for support. It helped me no end. Looking forward to reading about your progress.
Thanks BWhelan and congratulations on your graduation!
It certainly is a fantastic and supportive forum and the support, like yours, has been superb. Thanks again and keep up the consolidation runs👍
Well done for completing week 1 Whitto. Week 2 is a great set of runs and you really feel you are building on the foundation of week 1. Keep your pace slow & steady, keep well hydrated (even on rest days) and keep stretching out after each run. Enjoy week 2 😊.
Enjoy ... I graduated in Dec 19 from virtually no exercise in 20 years at 60 and have continued 3x a week including 6 Park Runs, am still running in current environment. Not yet addicted but can see how that could happen.
