Just finished - and actually managed the 8 x 90 seconds - which I really didn't think I could do. I was so close to stopping on the last 2 runs, but so glad now that I didn't.
I do feel a bit pathetic though - I can just about manage to run for 90 seconds at a time - it's pretty bad - but better than I thought I could do.

do not knock your self your doing fine like you i thought that 90 seconds was an eternity but here i am a few weeks later doing week 9 and running for 35 mins
I may be wrong but on my app zenlabs it says 90 second runs and 2 min walks for 20 mins which would be 6 reps for 21 mins
So buy my math which may not be correct you did very well and did an extra 2 reps
It's my mistake - it was 6 x 90 seconds! - I had the 8 in my mind from last week!
Did you really - like me - find 90 seconds an eternity? - And now you can run for 35 minutes??? - I can't imagine being able to do that! You are inspiring me
well that's what others here did for me the encouragement and support here is awesome .
And yes it did seem like and eternity its just a matter of plodding on at a pace you can maintain and if it gets to hard slow down its not a race .
to be honest its more of a mental challenge than a physical one for me you just have to keep telling yourself you can do this one stage at a time .
I think the one thought that kept me going more than any other was that i did not want to post here that i had failed due to just giving in to the gremlins.
These nasty little beasties used to pester me before each run and during the run filling me with dout and thinking of reasons to put it off or excuses to stop and try another day .
Now they have been caged and don't bother me but i'm sure when i decide on my next running challenge they will return to pester me but i've beaten them once so will do again
I know i have 2 more runns in week 9 but to be honest i have no worries and i shall do them
I did start off this morning thinking "I can't do this" - but tried to put that thought out of my head.
I am running with a "coach" - who told me each time "30 seconds done" ..."30 seconds to go" ..."10 seconds to go"... "3, 2, 1" - he encourages me a lot - I know I wouldn't have the self discipline to go and do it otherwise! So perhaps I'm not as good as other people on here
But I don't mind as long as I keep doing it, and doing with him is better than not doing it at all. And there may come a time - so my 2 marathon-running sisters tell me - that I will enjoy it! - and maybe then I'll be able to do it on my own!
Not just an eternity... eternity and beyond..for me... and now two and a bit years on.. I still run three times a week, can run 10 k and my long runs are often at least an hour So.... just you wait... you will be doing that!!!
We have all been there and made it through. You will do the same too. Just keep doing what the programme asks of you. It really does work so trust in it.
Thank you - it does feel like an eternity. But I am inspired by everyone who says I should trust the programme! - and who has gone further than me, from equally poor beginnings
brilliant and well done for sticking at it , yes 90 seconds is an eternity ... until it isnt , for some reason it just works and next week you will be breezing through the 90s and smash the 3 minutes too ,
oh you will ;P im week4 couldnt run a minute 4 weeks ago and now im doing 5 mins , dont gt me wrong its not easy but damn its worth it when you finish a session ! you will be fine ,
