Yesterday it was raining and I really didn’t want to run.... So I didn’t. Today it was muddy and damp and I really really didn’t want to run. But I have a brill virtual training buddy who I didnt want to disappoint. Big shout out to Rua8. We both started running last week and I know if she wasn’t at the end of the tinternet, I would have given today a miss.
I basically slipped and slid my way around the course, if anyone had filmed it, I would now be a you tube sensation. I need some new trainers.... maybe at the moment even rugby boots.
Hint for the day: Get. virtual running buddy
oh and good trainers
The photo is one of the times I nearly slid off the muddy track into the vineyard

Brilliant post. Well done for getting out there despite the mud.
Virtual running buddies are awesome, and sometimes keep on running with you for years afterwards. I've even met two of mine for real. Nothing like accountability to keep you motivated !
Your gremlin lives in your head, and is the little voice that tells you can't, that you don't want to, that it's raining, that everyone will laugh at you, and that this running lark is totally overrated. Mine is called Gary, he wears oversized grey Y-fronts and eats a staple diet of Pringles, Carlsberg and pizza.
Wow, well done for managing to keep upright and not go home covered in mud. I met my virtual running buddy in this forum and we have met up a couple of times, but we didn't run, we shared a most convivial coffee and Portuguese Custard Tart. We found we had a lot more in common than just running. ( @jancanrun I hope your ears aren't burning).
Unfortunately I live halfway up a hill surrounded by vineyards. It is 1 km down the hill to the main road (which is frequented by crazy Italian drivers)
Or a 10 min walk up a steep clay dirt track (very slippery) to get to our little village.
What I do is I run along the vineyards on the slightly less hilly course.
