Week 8 run 2

I was ok running till week 7. I am finding week 8 runs too difficult to finish. I am too tired by 10 minutes into the run and wants to stop but somehow keep going. By minute 15, I am again alright which I find strange. Somehow I complete the run. I am not sure if this is normal.

The comment you will probably get mainly, will be, slow down. Even if you think you are running slowly, there is always slower.

These longer runs are made for a relaxed, gentle pace; letting the running legs, which are still building, find their own happy pace:)

Breathe gently, start slow and stay slow.

Stamina and strength exercises should have been upped a little too as the runs get longer. The rest of your body needs to keep up with the legs.

If you are feeling tired generally, maybe check your eating routine and make sure you are drinking plenty of water.. not just on run days, but every day :)

Thanks so much for suggestion Oldfloss. I will be slower in today's run. I will try strength exercises over weekend.

Definitely start even slower - I remember finding new depths of slowness to complete the longer runs.

But also you say that by minute 15 you feel alright again? Sounds like you're also finding the "toxic ten" effect which for some people lasts more than 10 minutes. Basically the first bit of the run, the body hasn't caught up with the increased oxygen demand, but it does eventually. If you warm up well and start running slowly it might help that a lot, and yes, it's normal :)

Glad to know reason behind 10 minutes discomfort while running. Would try slowing my pace further. Thanks so much for info
