On completion of W5R2 I was enjoying the sense of achievement and relishing tackling the final challenge of the week which should’ve taken place on Thursday. However the unfortunate timing of Winter Part II, delayed the run and mentally I felt like I lost momentum. Today, in the thaw, I made the conscious effort to get out in the slush and push myself to complete the 20 minutes and close out W5.
Long story short I completed it, but it was a struggle and didn’t feel comfortable but I’m putting that down to leaving too much of a gap between runs and in hindsight I should’ve started the week again.
But I won’t dwell on the negatives the main thing is I’ve ran for 20 mins without stopping, I used positive affirmations when I found it tough going and it worked.
Week 6... I’m coming for you!

If it helps,I would have done exactly what you did.👍
Yes we are all uniquely different.🤔 and as the programme permits, slow & steady ,and so what if your choice is to repeat, all that is good.👍
Yes it can throw us Newbies, 🤔but the extra rest period would have and can do,turbo charge you as well as repair you.
Well done on the positive affirmations. Are these from Mentor IT FAQ Posts. 🤔The gem I like from there is never feared a race, set me thinking why🤔,and it is only enjoyment.🤔 Belief, so we have to learn to believe in our running abilities , what you bring to every run is your best for that day, believe it.You put the work in and it’s yours.👏👏
The only fear I have is for Week 6,🙈😂😂😂 It is at your mercy.👏👏😂
You are on the high ridge and in full view of the summit.Enjoy the rest of your continuous learning and continuous improvement running experience.🏃♀️
Well done that’s a another week ticked off 🙌 I’m just slightly ahead of you in Wk6 and I’ve found the interval runs helping again as the 20min was tough for me too 😊
Well done on pushing through. Take care on W6 it can trip you up. It did me... but slow steady running will get you there.
