Just getting started...

ramsgaterunner79 profile image

Second run of week 1 completed today. Almost didn’t go as it was raining but so glad I did. First run I couldn’t run all of the intervals so walked the last two but today completed whole thing! Felt brilliant! Feel like I have the pace right now.

Well done to both of you completing W1R2 - it feels good doesnt it? I completed W1R2 on Mon got w1R3 to do today. Bought some new running trainers so hoping they will help :)

Legs really sore on mon after run especially left shin which was like cramp but at front on shin - also hurt during run so hoping it doesn't happen again today.

Well done, ramsgaterunner79 ! I'll be doing week 1 run 2 tomorrow. I quite like being out in the rain - I suspect I may be in the minority though :o)

I quite enjoyed the rain. It woke me up anyway!

Well done for getting the first runs out of the way. It’s a brilliant feeling when you successfully complete a run. Best of luck and enjoy the journey.

ramsgaterunner79 well done for getting started on the programme. That's the hardest bit done, making the commitment to getting out the door for the first couple of runs. Now you have the rest of the programme ahead of you and this great virtual running family to keep you company along the way.

Good luck and happy running.

Well done for getting out there- I try to persuade myself I can only get wet once!

Haha! I just figured if I start using it as an excuse this time I’ll use it all the time. Trying to start off with no excuse mindset! I like your way of thinking though. Good luck.

Excellent! Good to see a fewer of us at the same stage! I’m on my second run 🏃‍♀️ tomorrow. Yesterday was ok but legs a bit stiff today. Rain forecast here too but at least ours is not cold!

I felt the same after my first run but second was much better and have not felt stiff at all. Going for third run tomorrow and really looking forward to it. Good luck!

I plan to do my second run tomorrow! I found first session hard as well. Well done sounds like you did really well 😊

I did better than I thought I would after the first run. Feel like I got the pace right on the second one. Listened to some slightly slower music to help me keep pace as first one I ran too quickly on the first intervals and got stitch so had to slow down and walk the last three. Felt much more comfortable second time. Good luck with yours. Sure you’ll do brilliantly!
