Ive beeen working out since sept of 2017, ive gone from being a couch potato to being more active. Ive been cutting down on munchies and all that stuff, not that i really ate it on a daily basis anyway, ice been drinking about a gallon of water every day. Ive avoided red meats, baaaiiiirrrrllllyyyyy eat out, literally once twice a month, i workout 4 to 5 times a week for over an hour. When i dont have anything "healthy" to eat ill just eat very small portions, most of the time it feels like im starving butni fight through it so i dont overr eat. I avoided rhe scale for 3 months just soni dont put my self down. Checked yesterday and im the same damn weigjt. My clothes still fit me tight. I feel stronger, but nothing. I literally feel lile I've wasted 5 months on nothing. $$$ verrrrrrrryyyyyyy tight so theres only so much i can do with food. Im literally about to give up on this. My friend lost 15lbs already, and ive lost nothimg. Im over it. Any suggestions? What can i be doimg wrong? Should i just eat once a day or something? Im 5'0 at 135.....ive been trying to get to 115, and its been mission impossible.

It sounds like you have made great achievements in being more active and getting fitter. If you want to lose weight the best way ( In my view) is simply to reduce your calories. Use an app like MyFitnessPal. However celebrate your achievements, you are getting fitter!!!

Why give up, think how much good this is doing your body!

Is 115 achievable? I'm just a tad taller at 5.2 and my goal is 135. I don't think 115 would be sensible for my body.

Count calories, reduce starches but you still need to eat.

I certainly don't think you've wasted any time. Your body is so much better off now than it was and that's the really important part.

Hi. Welcome:)

Are you doing the C25K programme... ? It could be worth starting if not.. and also.. are you on the sister weight loss site?

healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...

Many folk here, are doing the C25K journey and are on the weight loss site too, they find it works really well.

A healthy eating regime, ( not a diet) ,linked with a structured exercise programme could be what you are looking for :)

Why not try a group? I lost 10 kilo with Slimming World.

I’ve been on a low carb diet - no potatoes pasta bread beer etc. Have lost a stone and a half

Remember muscle is heavier than fat and you’ve maybe built more muscle

I've recently lost 4.5 stone in 19 weeks with Slimming World. I would highly recommend it!!

Morning! It’s great great news that you’ve become more active and fit - essentially that is the most important thing. Firstly every body is different, and different diets work for different people. Losing weight is 80% diet and 20% exercise, so it’s great that you’re exercising regularly but now you need to focus on your food. Simply cutting meals is bad for your body, as your body needs a source of energy to function well. You should be eating between 7 and 8 small meals everyday. Ensuring that they are healthy is great. Home made food with fresh produce is great, I recommend getting a cookbook of healthy recipes and snacks and simply relying on that throughout the day. You will see progress eventually. Keep up the amazing work and you should be so proud of yourself for doing this. Don’t compare yourself to others, and focus on you!

if you tracked what you ate you would find out what’s happening. If you eat less and move more what could be stopping the weight coming off?

Keep a log of everything and then take a critical look-see. You might spot trends. Portion sizes! That’s a good first place to look

If you are eating a whole lot healthier and moving a whole lot more why would you Pack Up!

Well done on getting so much fitter - you must surely be feeling better in yourself.

I think the problem likely resides in diet and keeping an accurate and honest diary of what and how much you are eating, and when, might help you find out what exactly it is.

Why not enquire at your GPs surgery about any weight loss support or advice services in your area? It sounds like having an expert cast an eye on your food diary might be useful in identifying problem areas and what to do about them. Or, indeed, a visit to your GP for a general check up to see if there are any other issues that might be affecting your metabolism.

And do C25k! It's not the answer to everything but you'd certainly have fun doing it and if you are feeling jaded about your workouts, it might make you feel enthusiastic again about exercise.

If you work out your TDEE and eat 200-500cals under that then you will lose. Maybe log everything you eat to start with. This is what I've done, I've lost 12lbs this month. Good luck
