Good job I did w3r1 today and managed it despite not be living that I could. I actually felt quite emotional at completing the run is that normal?

Well done! It might be a good idea to slow down at the start and if you feel up to it speed up towards the end of the run rather than run out of steam too early. Stick with it, you will be glad you did.
